Michael Fallon claims there have been ZERO civilian casualties from air strikes in Iraq
A more accurate estimate of civilian casualties in Iraq is around 400, I’m told. Fallon was covering himself by saying his “estimate” was that there hadn’t been any.
Mr Fallon said he has to personally approve any target selected for air strikes, and intelligence allows him to distinguish between terrorists and “people in headscarves selling shoes.”
He then made an astonishing claim about the accuracy of RAF strikes.
“The RAF have been striking with the permission of Parliament in Iraq for over a year now,” he said. “And our estimate is that there hasn’t yet been a single civilian casualty because of the precision of their strikes.
“They’ve been carefully targeted at ISIL command posts, ISIL supplies, ISIL supply routes.”
Mr Marr replied: “With the greatest respect, that reminds me of Robin Cooke’s notorious comment about going into Afghanistan and “not a shot being fired” at the beginning of that war.”
Mirror Online contacted the Ministry of Defence to ask what evidence there was to back up Mr Fallon’s claim, but they had not responded at the time of publication.

no they on the way here whot idiot would try to live there perhaps he should have said on learning they going to bomb more we off to our boats escape to europe
I guess Mr. Fallon must have an extremely powerful telescope
Well, he would say that wouldn’t he.
Michael Fallon is wrong and only a fool would believe that figure of zero
if the figure is that spot on then i would expect him to visit some of the civilians living their by living with them for a few weeks who would show him their hospitality ?
Impossible to challenge…..unless he popped over there frequently and asked the folk who were touched by the Uk attacks…. With so much propoganda and lies coming out of the Party machine the public have difficulty in believing anything that is stated.
I heard mention on the BBC this week that 93 ‘allied countries and states’ were involved in the strikes against ISIL in Syria. Anyone know how many are striking at Iraq or are we the only ones? Just how big is our contribution to the ‘Iraq’ mission?
Nice to know that our man on the ground is so confident that no civilians were hurt during the bombing raid.
Reminds me of Idiotic Demented Sociopath ” My welfare policies are not responsible for any deaths” they must have gone to the same school of deny everything.
We forget our values after a tragedy. If you perceive the War On Terror as a clash of values (Islamism’s barbaric, intolerant, fundamentalist tyranny vs. The West’s liberty, pluralism, democracy and rule of law) then the most appropriate response to a terrorist attack should be to bolster and defend the freedom of Western citizens.
This would not only be a middle finger to fundamentalism, but would illustrate that our culture doesn’t bow to terror. However, it seems that after every terrorist atrocity perpetrated in a Western country, a state of fear and submission quickly takes hold.
Which is just what Cameron wants. Cameron says it could take years to end this killing of innocent peoples, whilst making loadsa money supplying arms to his terrorist sympathiser chums, and wasting public money on his gungho “We are British” attitude!
