David Attenborough laments ‘dreadful’ UK bombing campaign
Sir David Attenborough has spoken out about the horrors of war at Christmas, urging people to think about “refugees and migrants” and describing the UK bombing campaign as “dreadful” in an interview.
Asked about his forthcoming Christmas television special in an interview in the Radio Times, the BBC presenter, who turns 90 next year, said: “At Christmas we’re under the impression we have it all: we have turkey and brandy butter and Christmas pudding and the family and we have a great time, by and large.
“But think of those poor refugees and migrants. My God, the state of the world. Madmen dropping bombs in places, as if that solves anything. And poor people being bombed by us. It’s dreadful.”

Great shame Sir David is not a politician, he is one that tells the truth unlike the gremlins in power.
David Attenborough speaks for the vast majority of the worlds people and long may that continue
It is a great pity that people like David Attenborough are not running the country. Silly I know because he has too much humanity to be a politician. You need to be cunning as a fox and vicious as a wolf to become one of them. David would much rather see foxes and wolves as magnificent creatures in their own right
Well said David Attenborough. You speak for the majority. Let’s hope your words are well reported.
Sir David is a genuine British Icon, renowned throughout the world and an ambassador Britain can be proud of. What have we got? Cameron and Blair. Forked tongued, lying hypocrites full of their own self importance with an arrogance they have done nothing to earn but a reputation that shows them to be shallow self serving contemptuous “spivs”.
Wonderful – Merry Christmas Syria and Iraq, welcome to the Christian world where double standards, double dealing and enmity are standard.
damn the Anglosphere
I too appreciate a scion of the establishment speaking out. I would have actually admired him had he mentioned the poor in the UK (and the rest of the world) too.
