David Cameron steals Christmas from thousands of families

Last Updated: December 13, 2015By

Here at Vox Political Towers, we intend to spend less on Christmas this year.

Times are hard and the future is uncertain. The DWP has focused its unwanted attention on Mrs Mike once again and we don’t know whether that means another unwarranted attempt to cut her sickness benefits is on the way.

And, popular though This Blog is (more than 525,000 hits last month), it really isn’t making me rich (yet).

There is a consequence for the UK economy, and of course it means some of David Cameron’s supporters may become less, or indeed un-rich as a result of his policies.

It seems unlikely he will notice or care, though. Tories are stupid that way.

Nearly nine out of 10 Brits say they feel under pressure to spend too much this year.

But 45 per cent say they plan to spend less on Christmas 2015 than they did last year.

And that suggests they do not believe the PM’s assurances that the economy is on the mend.

And why should you not be, we all know that noting we could BUY is in any possible way aiding British workers; it will not have been manufactured in UK, it will not be grown in the UK and it will be shoddy Tat and, the retailer will most likely be an pseudo offshore Non tax entity….so! stuff them.

The shadow of IDS DWP hangs long over all of us. Until yet more are drawn into it by way of Universal Credit I can’t see enough reacting by voting Tories out. Even then there’s no guarantee of political will to reverse the awful cuts. I never forget it was a Labour govt who began the changes to WCA etc.
Sorry so gloomy, in pain, cold and broke due to cuts. But I wish you both a Happy Xmas and a much less stressful New Year!

That’s a ‘NEW Labour’ government who brought in the WCA.
It’s one reason why the neoliberals who had control of the party for so many years must never be allowed to get it back.

TBH it doesn’t really matter to me who brought in the WCA, it’s the way it’s managed thats vital. I personally don’t have a problem with the idea of the WCA or the idea of JSA sanctioning etc. Now, before anyone potentially jumps down my throat and accuses me of being just as bad as IDS/DWP, I used the word ‘idea’. I currently believe that it’s more than right for people to be assessed before they are placed onto any benefit (certainly disability allowances). I also believe that if someone isn’t taking reasonable enough steps to find work, then they rightly should be penalised. What I can’t stand is the downright shocking and disgraceful way it’s being managed at the moment. With disability allowances, you have to be extremely careful and sensitive when dealing with people on benefits like those, something our current gov is doing the reverse with.

Totally agree. That’s why I support Corbyn, but if he’s deposed or over ruled by the “moderates” we’re back to square 1.

Everyone is getting hit by Camoron’s agenda, New Labour started the DWP plan true but the tories have definitely put their own spin on it, it now fully reeks of them, I’ve noticed too not many xmas lights up in people’s houses and if there are any, they’re not very bright, so sorry to anyone who is getting hammered by them, which is basically all of us, hope that even though we’re all getting the screws put on us, it won’t ruin your Christmases.

Sorry about the DWP and Mrs.Mike, I know you will be there for her and wish you every luck with this evil regime, been there done it and got the badge, don’t know why I paid national insurance for thirty eight years and paid employers contribution for thirty two staff.

It feels like my Insurance company has just repudiated my claim because they feel like and it suits their agenda.
