UK homelessness rising faster among minority ethnic groups, Labour says

Are Conservative policies inherently racist?

Severe homelessness among minority ethnic communities has risen much faster than in the general population in the last three years, an analysis by Labour has found.

In figures described as a national disgrace by the shadow housing minister, John Healey, those suffering from the worst category – unintentionally homeless and in priority need – are disproportionately from black and Asian communities.

Labour said that among those households defined as black, the numbers rose to 2,190 households in the second quarter of this year – an increase of 21% compared with three years ago – while among those defined as Asian, it increased to 1,210 households in the same period, or 33%.

Among the general population, there was an increase from 12,890 households registered in the second quarter of 2012 to 13,850 households in the same quarter of 2015 – an increase of 7%.

Healey, who highlighted the figures on the Department for Communities and Local Government website, said homelessness overall has risen by a third since David Cameron became prime minister and minority ethnic groups have been particularly badly affected.

No they are not racist they are bigoted only bigots believe that we are in some way a different race to any human from another country or who has a different colour skin. Time to end this race nonsense once and for all.

I remember getting incensed recently, when a co-worker was telling us about her trip to the Rep Theatre [in Birmingham] and she said ‘The play was fantastic and what spoilt it was all the Africans sleeping in doorways, they should be rounded up and deported!’
I was that angry, my reply to her would have been a tirade, so I had to walk out the canteen.

we are reaping what we have sown,by having an open immigration policy, and not laying any infrastructure down beforehand.its not rocket science.

This situation isnt really surprising as the chance to develope any personal wealth or support group has been consistantly denied to our BME brothers and sisters for many years. I was fortunate enough to be raised in a ‘colour blind’ family and have never understood how people claim to be ‘christian’ and still persist in being racist. Our political leaders/masters have much to answer for. The sheer inhumanity being so ruthlessly exposed should shame us all.
