EU referendum: UK renegotiations ‘not top of EU agenda’

Last Updated: January 27, 2016By

Interesting this. Hasn’t Cameron been crowing about recent progress, after talks with Angela Merkel?

Perhaps we should believe nothing, with regard to the EU renegotiation, until we see it happen.

The UK’s EU renegotiation is not the top priority for EU leaders but the “ambition” is still for a February deal, the foreign secretary has said.

Philip Hammond said the talks “are number one on our Europe agenda” but the EU has “other issues on its plate”.

It comes amid mounting speculation of a June vote after preparations for the referendum got under way on Tuesday.

Mr Hammond said a June date would be possible if a deal was agreed at next month’s European Council summit.

But he stressed that it was more important to get the “right deal” rather than a “quick deal”.

whats the ‘right ‘ deal to which Hammond refers.?
who decides which deal is right. tories are unworthy and ruled by USA corporations with vested interests in TTIP s trading deal which should be disregarded by EU nationals. so which is the right deal? who is its main beneficiary?

    Right for Who?
The are renowned for their ‘quick deals’!
Wouldn’t be surprised to see a buy-out arranged leaving the tax payers trillions more in debt, while they quietly post off their payoffs to the Caymen Island’s banking system – nicely away from prying eyes!

They will of course swear it was the best deal they could get agreement on – and for them, probably would be!

Criminals and the criminally incompetent now run our country!

I believe that Camergoons “deal” will be a “No Real Deal” but puffed up by him to be a negotiation triumph! At best it will be a fudge of some jam today but more jam in the future. At worst it will be no jam at all!

The Tory sceptics and the Press will have their knives out for Mr Piggy. There will be a vote for Brexit and it will all come tumbling down. Cameron will be knighted and Boris will take over.Osborne will be replaced by ?.
