So it doesn’t matter who provides healthcare, Mr Cameron? What about the failure of NHS 111

This Writer’s interest has been attracted by a series of tweet from the National Health Action Party, on the failure of private providers running public NHS services.

They concentrate on the NHS 111 ‘urgent action’ telephone line, the contract for which is held by Care UK.

The whole series makes for sorry reading:

“So it doesn’t matter who provides our healthcare, Mr Cameron? What about ‘NHS’ 111 ‘urgent care’ service, run by Care UK, which is poor?

“Govt’s NHS privatisation strategy involves confusing public so unclear whether being treated by NHS or private firm hiding behind NHS logo

“Private firms use NHS logo. Provide bad service so people complain. Govt says must privatise. Firms remove logo. How it works. ie: ‘NHS’ 111

“Care UK donated money to health minister’s office. It obtained ‘NHS’ 111 ‘urgent care’ contract. Service has since been poor.

“NHS: integrated, comprehensive, cost-effective, accountable. Privatised: fragmented, unaccountable, expensive, only profitable services

“Not convinced yet that the government is turning our NHS into a mere “brand”? Here are the guidelines.”

The facts about some of Care UK’s mishandling of the NHS 111 service may be found here.

A stop to private companies using the NHS logo and making a profit

‘NHS services with NHS values’. ‘The NHS family of services’ – very cosy. Wow!! So, 95% of the public recognize and trust the NHS logo and along come these wolves in sheep’s clothing, make a hash-up of it and so the politicians respond to this ‘problem’ by saying more privatisation!
    Ever been had?
Basically, the NHS really doesn’t exist any more.

We won’t have an NHS if this government carries on destroying it. People will be asked for their credit/debit card details when they enter hospital soon.
