Mr Corbyn will be the first leader of the opposition to speak at the music festival.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has accepted an invitation to speak at this year’s Glastonbury festival in June.

Mr Corbyn will address music fans in the Left Field area, the line-up for which is organised by singer and activist Billy Bragg.

The festival, which has already sold out, runs from 22 to 26 June – coinciding with the in-out referendum on the UK’s EU membership on 23 June.

Labour’s shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, has also been invited.

noted Corbyn has been invited , not Benn. seems the man of the people will deservedly get a platform that Cameron can only dream of.

Which Benn? Tony is dead and Hilary would not be welcome on the Left Field area, for obvious reasons.

For those who may still be on this Planet Bill Keegan has given Labour the only coherent rebuttal of the Tory Con-o-nomics scam; no doubt y’all missed it so read and learn:

It was Ed Balls, much maligned at the time but now increasingly highly regarded, who pointed out that the 2008-09 financial crisis had economic effects that were the peacetime equivalent of war. But, unlike the situation in 1945, we did not have a war-ravaged economy. We had an economy that had been plunged into recession by a banking crisis. As Balls argued in his seminal Bloomberg speech of August 2010, the last thing we needed, after the economy had begun to recover in response to the fiscal stimulus of 2009, was a policy of austerity. We needed to foster economic growth, and adopt policies that would alleviate a burgeoning balance of payments problem.

If this cannot be delivered without stuttering at Question Time, we are in deep DoDo.

Many more people than Ed Balls have been arguing against austerity since it was first suggested!
What kind of nonsense are you trying to push on us?

And, as with Balls, plus all the other, would be Labour Austerity decriers, they so evidently are only half believers in their weak kneed protests, at least no less than 60% of so-called Labour MP’s are still fervent Austerity-ites.
y’all lost the Election as a result of their being absolutely no difference between Tweedle-dumb & Tweedle-deed and there is still no marked difference other than Jeremy’s lack OF DRESS SENSE.

The dumbo Millipeed whilst looking down his nose at those who never obtained an 2/1 at Oxford and, actually as he also claims, lectured at Harvard, omitting that it was a paid off-Campus Jewish post unattached to Harvard simply renting space; when I want some jumped up convenience Labour chancer looking down his Nose at me, it won’t be because I did not go to Oxbridge on a freebie, in my family we pays our way.

Billy Bragg has secured a PR coup for Jeremy Corbyn and hopefully John McDonnell to appear at Glastonbury. Eat your heart out Cameron!

That’s probably going to be his biggest audience, is it not? If it’s bad weather, he’ll definitely need his wellies!

I don’t think so. He has the ear of millions of us on a day-to-day basis.
If you mean live audience, I’m not sure. How many gathered in Manchester when he spoke outside the Tory conference last year?

Yes, I meant live audience. Obviously I agree with the first part of your comment. No idea about the Tory conference though, but good point.
