U2 star Bono tells America Britain voting to leave EU would be UNTHINKABLE

On seeing this, the first thought in This Writer’s mind was, “Is he even relevant any more?”

What do you think?

Bono has waded into the European Union debate by telling US politicians they should be “be worried” about Britain cutting ties with Brussels.

The U2 frontman yesterday urged members of Congress to confront an “existential threat” to Europe not since since the 1940s.

He claimed the continent faces a wave of “hyper-nationalism” before warning that Britons could vote to leave the EU on June 23.

The rock legend, best known for 1987 hit With Or Without You, said: “This is unthinkable stuff. And you should be very nervous in America about it.”

He added: “Europe is America’s most important ally since the Second World War.

“Are we not your most important ally in the fight against violent extremism? This should really matter to you. I know it does.”

And he bizarrely claimed extremist groups such as Islamic State could be defeated by comedians such as Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen.

Don’t know much about Bono, but for what it’s worth, I agree with him.

Could Sacha Baron Cohen defeat Isis? I’m sure ridicule would undermine Isis as well as waging war on them, but, of course, it would need a bit more than that and it would have to be well directed so as not to be counter-productive.

Bono is an irrelevant numbskull. It’s a matter for the British people and frankly none of his business. It’s high time this moron was treated with the contempt he deserves.

America didn’t need Bono to tell them to worry after all they built it in the first place and worry that their idea of a united states of europe will disintegrate, it is going to anyway because it isn’t only brevet although that is the major referendum at present but Romania are likely to use their veto the dutch had a referendum rejecting eu plans and France is about to go into an economic meltdown at least the equivalent of 2007. Meanwhile in Germany civil unrest is rising at Merkels handling of the migrants from africa, the euro is on very dodgy grounds so it is likely the whole rotten edifice will implode in the near future anyway.

Since when has an compilation of less than 150 words been considered an “article”?? This “article” really tells me nothing of importance and was a complete waste of my time. I expected to learn a little more about the subject matter but came away with absolutely nothing….it is ridiculous. The fact that so called “authors” are on the internet these days does not excuse this. Maybe they do this so that the more intellectually challenged people can keep up but to me this is only encouraging that trend…ridiculous…

I gave it the attention that, in my consideration, it deserved. The reaction I’ve had satisfies me that I was right.

I’ve never used bad language on any post online, despite often commenting on Tories and their policies. But there’s no way round this. Bono is a pompous tax avoiding little twat.

This pathetic individual is a political tool and I am talking about both meanings in this case.
