It seems Nigel Farage’s excuse for his comments is “I have black voters”.

Will that continue to be true, if those voters realise what he has been saying about them?

The Archbishop of Canterbury has launched a scathing attack on Nigel Farage, accusing the UKIP leader of racism over his migrant sex attack claim.

Justin Welby went on the offensive after Mr Farage said remaining in the EU could trigger migrant sex assaults similar to the New Year’s Eve attacks in Cologne.

Home Affairs Select Committee chairman Keith Vaz told the churchman: “I would regard those comments as being racist, and a lot of people would.”

Condemning “without hesitation” Mr Farage’s claim, Archbishop Justin told Mr Vaz: “I would agree with you.

“I think that is an inexcusable pandering to people’s worries and prejudices, that’s giving legitimisation to racism.”

Farage’s claim to have “black voters” is irrelevant. His comments are insulting and appear to be deliberately intended to incite racial hatred.

Given that a large number of the membership of UKIP are ex EDL, BNP, NF etc and the main policies it espouses coupled with their absolute hatred of socialism are consistent with the policies of those right wing extremist organisations it is wholly unsurprising they are racist.
What is shocking are the number of otherwise moderate people who feel no shame in associating with them and supporting their platform.
