MP Sarah Wollaston quits ‘Leave’ over ‘untrue’ claim

If Dr Wollaston offers to campaign for Remain, you see, I’ll just take it as read she’s acting as a double agent, trying to sabotage the ‘In’ campaign from the inside.
Better for her to stay out.
I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt because her reason for quitting ‘Leave’ is valid.
Trouble is, it has been valid ever since the £350-million-a-week figure was first mentioned.
Tory MP Sarah Wollaston has quit the campaign to leave the EU and will vote for Remain instead, she told the BBC.
Dr Wollaston, chairman of the health select committee, said Vote Leave’s claim that Brexit would free up £350m a week for the NHS “simply isn’t true”.
She told the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg that she did not feel “comfortable” being part of the campaign.
Vote Leave has stood by its much-criticised £350m claim, which is on the side of its battle bus.
But the Totnes MP, who is a GP, said: “For someone like me who has long campaigned for open and honest data in public life I could not have set foot on a battle bus that has at the heart of its campaign a figure that I know to be untrue.
“If you’re in a position where you can’t hand out a Vote Leave leaflet, you can’t be campaigning for that organisation.”

How long has it taken her? If her story is true, she must have some irrefutable evidence that the figure is a lie, whatever convinced her,and produce it.
I cannot vouch for anyone’s sincerity but I am pleased with her comments just the same.
The timing was a dead giveaway to how those slimey Cons work. The Camoron will be pleased and proud of his little sleepers work. For this deed she will no doubt be rewarded with some title or higher paid post within the Cons now her work is done. Good luck to her, if that is how she earns her promotions, she will fit in well with her other devious top guns.
You captured the main point of her excuse to leave ie the leave gross figure needs qualification and should include all the net paybacks……if she had made her point and slithered off after day 1 then I would have had far more respect for her position. Tactically it would have had far more impact and disruption at the launch rather than obviously leaving it to nearer voting day.
IN should beware of BREXIT trojan horses at this stage!
Bear in mind that this is a highly publicised article by a Tory.
It looks to me more like a devious well planned career move than an objection on principle.
One could argue that she’s a Trojan horse from the Remain side, sent to discredit. From my perspective, both sides are doing a pretty good job of their own self-destruction. We’re not as big fools as these politicians like to think, which is why neither side is telling us the truth, or giving the information that we actually need in order to make any meaningful decision. Without context, all of their claims are meaningless. I’m furious with both sides and have written to them, to the £abour Party, to my M.P., who also happens to be Minister For Europe, to ask for an end to the nonsense and some actual fact upon which we can make a proper decision. I have yet to hear from anybody, or witness a change in the debate. We are being treated with contempt.
Well I never thought of that Mike , I suppose its possible, but I really don’t think this woman is intelligent enough to understand what a double agent is , let alone be one, I actually believe one of the Tory mp’s being interviewed on L.B.C Radio this Lunch time and he suggested she has been promised fast tracking for a Ministerial role, should her far fetched Story ensure a significant number of people believe her and swing the Referendum for the remain camp.
