This Facebook post just about sums up the #EUref ‘Leave’ campaigners’ ideas

160623 UK after Brexit
Kudos to Leo Platt. I’ve edited it for profanity.

Friday’s going to be amazing! I’m going to wake up in my Union Jack jim-jams to the sound of a squadron of Spitfires racing overhead and leaving a trail of hot buttered crumpets behind them

I’ll run to the corner shop past all the British children who are laughing and squealing with excitement as they make a beautiful statue of the Queen out of happy wriggling bulldog puppies – with two corgis for her eyebrows!

Bunting flutters everywhere and the man from the betting shop steps into the street – “Guess what! England just won the World Cup & The Ashes & The Grand National and here’s the best bit – Boris put a bet on it for everyone! you’re all MILLIONAIRES!!!”

The Red Arrows fly overhead dropping fish and chips as I walk into the corner shop, get my morning paper and go to the counter. “How much please?” I say to the Asian lad behind the counter. “1 pence, everything in the whole shop now costs just 1p!” he laughs, “Leave it on the counter, I’m off back to Pakistan – we all are!”

And he’s right! Outside in the streets jolly old Nigel Farage is leading a huge crowd of happy foreigners through the street – Turks, Poles, Romanians, Syrians – there’s even a few English people with heavy suntans mixed up in there! Nigel’s playing Rule Brittania on a long pipe, rather like the pipe that takes the gas into your oven, and they’re all following and smiling and talking foreign, bless them!

Just then Boris flies overhead in a Concorde made of Bank of England gold – “Don’t worry!” he laughs “I’ve cut out all the bits the French made!”

And with that he crashes into the ground at 1200 miles an hour, along with the economy, the country and all the dozy nostalgic foreigner-fearing f**kwits who fell for his bulls**t.

Grow up. Wake up.

Getting sick to death now of all this the point in the eu referendum is so everyone gets their own say in or out you can not force someone to vote the way you want them to vote so stop with these god damp posts please! I am out and I do not care what you say

So you have never been interested in the evidence for either side; you just decided you wanted out and stuck to it all the way through?
      Isn’t that a little, you know, pig-headed?

No of course I have been interested I have been reading both sides but it has got way to much now reading it all over social media all day every day. Plus whoever wrote this is not giving their side they are being personal calling people and basically trying to force them to vote remain of which they have no right everyone can and will have their own vote tough if others don’t like it they can keep their nasty name calling to themselves how would whoever wrote this like it if I called them names and forced them to vote out?

Nobody’s forcing anybody to do anything. The way you’ve responded is proof of that.
The author of the FB post was simply pointing out what he understands to be the attitude of the principal players in the ‘Leave’ campaign – and where it will take us.
He’s appealing to everybody to use their sense of judgement, rather than simply doing as they’re told because it appeals to what they think they know.

Brilliant blogpost, good on you and Leo Platt. Brilliant rendition of which Hieronymus Bosch would doubtless be proud.

Er, the image is from Private Eye.

Thanks Mike, but I suspect that HB would still be proud of that rendition.
