This Writer has previously suggested that Mrs May’s response to David Cameron’s corrupt, crony honours would help define our understanding of her.

And it has.

If she thinks ending the cronyism that has tarnished the honours system would “set a very bad precedent”, then her understanding of good and bad is perverted.

She is just as corrupt as Cameron was.

Theresa May will not intervene in the official process of approving David Cameron’s resignation honours list because it would “set a very bad precedent”, Downing Street has said.

The prime minister had been facing calls to block honours for No 10 “cronies” after a leaked list revealed that her predecessor has requested knighthoods for party donors, pro-EU campaigners and political aides.

Labour and Liberal Democrat politicians called for an overhaul of the system as it emerged that one of Cameron’s last acts in office was to propose rewards for more than 40 allies, including four cabinet ministers and donors to the Conservatives and the EU remain campaign.

just more proof that THEY’RE all in in it together.

I think she is probably right. If the official process fails to block Cameron’s Overt Cronyistic Knighthoods, then it is demonstrably not fit for purpose and it is better that that fact is demonstrated and put right.

If the PM starts poking her nose into well established processes then where is she going to stop?

Why should our government, which is accountable to us, ever stop trying to do the right thing?
More to the point: When will our current government ever start?

It’s obvious that the Tories are so **** off with the spate of the HoL getting in the way of their, often illegal, pushing through of bills that Cameron is trying to balance the house in one fell swoop. It’s not in May’s interests to block him. Pure politics and nothing whatsoever to do with “honour”.

there should be some way of sacking a govt that doesn’t look after the best interests of the country before it runs its term.

According to the UN, austerity violated international human rights. The only ‘honour’ that George Osborne deserves is to be put on trial by the International Criminal Court for prematurely ending the lives of thousands of sick and disabled Britons, and for inflicting immense hardship and suffering on the poor.

David Cameron and George Osborne along with IDS should be put in the same bracket as tony Blair for war crimes ‘as although not connected the end result was the same
death and suffering to many vulnerable sick and disabled people

Whilst I am absolutely against the principle of giving honours to anyone for services which they have provided, other than in exceptional cases where perhaps someone has risked their life to help another etc., I do feel it would be difficult for Mrs. May to override Cameron’s typical cronyism. All jobs and services should be well done without expectation of being given privileges for so-doing. In every day life thousands of people excel expectations and neither expect nor receive privileges. It is time this nonsense of giving out titles to people is stopped and I hope when we get a decent government with Jeremy Corbyn that it will be.

Of course she won’t block it, she’s as corrupt as the rest of them!

I suspect May will be busy compiling her own Corrupt Cronies list, after all she was “in it together” with Cameron.
