We should all be laughing at this ridiculous poll result [Image: WPA Pool/Pool].

Seriously?

Well, no, not seriously. It’s from a YouGov poll and we all know that YouGov was co-founded by a current Tory MP and is run by a former Tory Parliamentary candidate.

Still, one cannot help but agree with This Writer’s friend Kanjin Tor, who tweeted that the poll was “Trolling the nation”.

YouGov’s latest poll has found that David Cameron is the most popular British prime minister since Margaret Thatcher.

Cameron, who resigned as Conservative leader after campaigning for the losing side in the EU referendum, was rated “good or great” by 32% of respondents. This was higher than Tony Blair on 20% and fellow Tory John Major on 14%.

Thatcher, whose “hard” brand of conservatism made her one of the most divisive prime ministers in British history, was rated “good or great” by 43% of respondents — including 20% of Labour voters.

No doubt assisted by escaping scot free for taking the nation blundering out of the European Union due to the Parliamentary Labour Party deciding to blame it all on Jeremy Corbyn …

I’m a yougov member. I cannot stand Call-Me-Dave. I have NEVER liked him; I couldn’t stand him even before he got his feet under the table at No. 10. As popular as Thatcher? That’d be right; we know how popular she proved to be. I don’t want to say too much but while people were turning to food banks, in the hundreds of thousands (a million plus), he and Gideon were acquiring chins. A disgrace. In all of his time in office, I agreed, to my dismay, with one thing that he said and I can’t even remember what that was. Even his mother protested, publicly, against his actions. I’d be interested to see that yougov poll.

I find this extremely funny, as Thatcher was the most hated Prime Minister since the Iron Duke “Duke of Wellington” became Prime Minister. Thats why she earned the nickname Iron Madin, She got called that not one for effection but one of deteste. Evil Prime Ministers, Wellington, Thatcher, Cameron and all three are from the same party, Tory Party AKA Country Party as it use to be called.

I sign up to Yougov and as a Labour and Corbyn supporter it is so obvious there is a bias in the polling. I rarely see any opportunity to answer a question that would go against the current status quo…

I saw the poll a few days ago and it confirmed my view. I think he has been an excellent PM and I am disappointed that he resigned.

I’m disappointed he resigned – for the opposite reason.

My reaction to that is coincidentally similar to that of Call me Dave’s pic above…

Unless I missed something, there have only been two PM’s since Margaret Thatcher (aside from Gordon Brown). Considering that Major was a mewling and totally ineffective PM and Blair was hated by even the majority of his own party, any departure from these two would, by necessity, have a higher rating. Likewise, the poll reflects that 68% did not think that Cameron was “good or great” – hardly something to boast about. Who was canvassed for this poll? Tory strongholds where 32% of the people are better off?

Did you know that Lynton Crosby, Dastard Dave’s election campaign consultant, and known as “master of the dark political arts”, has interests in the YouGov Polling Company. Also he and Mark Textor are co-founders of Crosby/Textor. Textor runs focus groups and opinion polls. Just saying……

Lynton Crosby also has interests in:

    • Tobacco Industry
    • Drinks Industry
    • Private Health Companies (H5) and the NHS
    • Fracking
    • Water
    • Links to Syrian Rebel fighters
    • Offshore tax havens

Yougov polls are often very carefully designed to provide specific answers.
I’ve been signed up since they began (I think membership was less than 1000 then!), and have watched their bias grow stronger. I suspect they target people with ‘relative’ polls, as there is no anonymity and they know very well who will provide the ‘correct’ answers.

Cameron was a slimy, slippery and shallow PR man who almost accidentally became PM. Cruel, heartless and disingenuous only George Osborne exceeded him in deliberate nastiness, hate and persecution of the disadvantaged like a zealot: How many of our countrymen now dead would still be alive if this wretched individual had never become leader of the Conservative party may never be known. Personally I am delighted that this lightweight suffered such an ignoble end and will only be remembered as the chancer Prime Minister who took the UK out of the EU by mistake after offering the nation an unnecessary referendum in order to temporarily quell dissent amongst his own ranks. In Cameron’s pinched, ambiguous and narrow world party politics and his own career always took precedence over the national interest.

I well remembering him ranting about evicting council tenants from their homes if family members of such households were proven to have taken place in the national riots that happened under his watch. The fact that only council tenants were targeted for vengeance and that the innocent and guilty alike could end up homeless and on the street seemed not to matter to him one whit.

Behaviour like this belongs to the thug rather than the statesman.

I couldn’t be more pleased that this arrogant phoney burned on his own bonfire.

That said I doubt that the pollsters deliberately falsified or skewed their results. Nick Clegg was briefly more popular in the polls than Winston Churchill and look where he is now.
