Cycling pledge to reboot ‘northern powerhouse’ – is it some kind of joke?

This is far too easy to mock (see the image and caption above).

Can Theresa May be serious or is she having a “senior moment”?

Theresa May pledged to support a bid to bring the cycling world championships to Yorkshire as she vowed her government would press ahead with George Osborne’s “northern powerhouse” project.

After Team GB’s extraordinary medal success in the cycling events at the Rio Olympics, the prime minister used an article in the Yorkshire Post to promise that the government would underwrite the UK’s bid to host the world championships and provide £24m of investment.

May also insisted she was committed to the “northern powerhouse” strategy, championed by the former chancellor, to give more powers to city regions.

This could result in a major boost for the Yorkshire Tea industry.

She would do better getting behind Labour mayors when they get elected and making it a priority to listen to their ideas.

The Northern Powerhouse is a joke, being from the North, we’ve seen no investment or care from the government at all!

she is missing a opportunity, Tory austerity at there own expense, free pushbikes so they could cycle around to there own constituency, look at the benefits, they could see for themselves what a mess there own transport policies make of the local areas, they would cut down on minister’s gas guzzling cars for a friendly pushbike, no road tax, no wear and tear to the road’s, the chance to experience running over a pothole or getting run over by another car in the process, keeping fit and losing weight, there are to many mp’s that appear unhealthy, they could lead by example, useful in Essex! and to be a northern powerhouse, excellent any conservative mp in the north on pushbikes, there one in straight talking mp form yorkshire who might benefit from that when he has to go to a hospital because it is to expensive to park as he spent 90 minutes talking a load of claptrap so nobody else had a chance to talk.

one other thing a powerhouse strategy by a bloke who has succesfully ruined the british economy, constantly joined the tory pick on the poor club, that strategy needs to be looked at carefully, powerhouse indeed more likely a power failure.
