Ex-PM Cameron’s hypocrisy reaches a new level as he complains about NHS cuts

Remember when David Cameron complained about cuts to police and council services in Oxfordshire, home of his Witney constituency?

These were natural consequences of the political policies he was following as prime minister but he hypocritically spoke out against them.

He even offered the help of Downing Street advisors, even though it was against the rules as it breached the ministerial code.

Now he is complaining about cuts at his local hospital.

It seems cutting services to other people is fine – but any harm to his own constituents, and thence to his electoral prospects, must be avoided at all costs.

Whatever happened to “we’re all in it together”?

David Cameron was branded “utterly hypocritical” today for complaining his local hospital has been downgraded in the NHS staffing crisis.

The ex-PM spoke out as Horton General Hospital in Banbury temporarily suspended high-risk births for “immediate and real patient safety reasons”.

Campaigners fear lives will be lost after bosses changed maternity services from October due to a shortage of obstetric doctors.

It follows the worst NHS deficit in a generation and soaring agency costs to plug staff gaps under Mr Cameron’s premiership.

But rather than accepting the blame Mr Cameron, the MP for nearby Witney, told the Oxford Mail: “Local mums want to have their babies in their local hospital.

“Myself and other local MPs will be working together to ensure that every option is considered and that every potential obstacle to these recruits is addressed.”

As I recall his mum was part of the campaign opposing her sons policies in the area perhaps she’s stepped in again and explained why Tory policies are so damaging.

Why are you surprised Mike? Surely he is following conservatism; one rule for the rich and another entirely different for the not so well off

Cameron was always a hypocrite and a corrupt one at that. After the mess he’s made its a wonder he dare stick his head above the parapet.
