Did Dame Lowell Goddard ever read the child sex inquiry’s terms, before attacking it?

Let’s get this straight – the woman who refused to explain why she quit as chair of the inquiry into historical child sex abuse wants to criticise it now?

Is she not aware that she’s been in charge of it for the last year and a half?

And, when she was signing the contract to run it, did she never realise it was an inquiry into historical child sex abuse?

So now it seems she wants to forget all the old cases and abandon all the victims.

What does this look like, to you? Another attempt to get us to let the abusers off?

The independent inquiry into child sex abuse is too big, bureaucratic and lacking in adequate systems, its former chairwoman has said.

Dame Lowell Goddard, who resigned last month, said in a memo to MPs that the inquiry needed overhauling.

She said the inquiry should focus less on the past and more on current standards of child protection.

New chairwoman Alexis Jay said its terms of reference would remain but an internal review of it would be held.

This abandonment of the abused by Goddard (I won’t dignify her with a title) is so typical of people who care more about the perpetrators than the victims so as not to rock the boat. The “perps” got away scot free but the victims have suffered and continue to suffer. What thought has she given to their suffering? Obviously none. We are well rid of her.

Look who gave their opinion on Goddard’s appointment….

I have no confidence in this inquiry ever ending in a satisfactory result for the many victims.

From the real feedback from one of your previous correspondents about the state of New Zealands judiciary when it comes to child abuse it sounded if she was tailor made for being on the side of the Establishment and that she was well rid off. Maybe she could see from the little she saw that things were so bad she could not create a Chilcott/Blair rescue package. And now Vaz has finally been flushed out his views on the subject of appointing this woman just add weight to her being the wrong choice from day 1. No doubt she did not lose out financially after such a short look see … pity she did not make up her mind earlier instead of wasting everyones time and money. Her words are meaningless and just add to establishing what side of the fence she was leaning ie.walk away and let them get away with it …but improve things going forward. How do these wasters get their titles and gongs….they’ll being giving them to style advisors and drivers next.
