Revealed: how US Trump supporters helped Tories fight marginal seats during election | Pride’s Purge

Last Updated: October 14, 2016By

Unsurprisingly, the Tories have been trying desperately to distance themselves from their sister party in the US since allegations of sexual abuse by Republican Party candidate Donald Trump came to light.

So they probably won’t be very happy about me pointing out that a Trump supporting organisation called the Young Republican National Federation sent activists over to the UK to help the Tories fight their 2015 election campaign:

Republicans are not all bad. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. I don’t think it’s fair to conflate the truly abysmal and repulsive Donald Trump with the Republicans when so many members of that party abhor and have disowned him – even though somehow or other he has ended up as that party’s candidate for the American presidency. Trump seems to have helped Democrat Hillary Clinton, herself a very unpopular although very clever and competent lady, set her feet on the path to the White House and a place in history as America’s first woman president for which we should be truly grateful. The woman is devious and morally flawed but couldn’t be more experienced and has a sane and brilliant mind.

Incidentally the Democratic party is a right of centre political party very much like our own Conservative party as far as policy goes and not much at all like Labour. Check out what Bill Clinton did to American welfare while president if you don’t believe me. Those who are old enough might remember Tony Blair, who modelled himself on Slick Willy, banging on about “welfare reform” during his first term after seeing how well bashing benefit claimants had worked for his idol in the States.

Parallels between British and American politics, even now, are few.

    Thankfully.

Wonder if they also aided and abetted those candidates who, it is alleged, cheated and broke the law?
