Labour MPs are NOT ‘blocking Parliament size cut because of Momentum deselection fears’. How silly

This Writer agrees with Harry Leslie Smith: “Real reason is because making fewer MPs but expanding the House of Lords is gerrymandering of democracy by the Tories.”

David Nuttall is simply trying to divert attention away from his own party.

The message to take away from this is simple:

Conservatives lie.

Labour MPs want to scrap a planned cut in the number of MPs because they are “frightened” of being deselected by supporters of Jeremy Corbyn, the Commons has heard.

The Parliamentary Constituencies (Amendment) Bill, brought forward by Labour MP Pat Glass, would scrap the Government’s move to reduce the number of MPs to 600.

It would also mandate the use of a more up-to-date electoral register when redrawing constituencies boundaries, give more flexibility to the size of parliamentary seats.

Tory MP David Nuttall however said the “real reason” the private members bill had been brought forward was because Labour MPs were scared of being de-selected by allies of Jeremy Corbyn, notably Momemtum.

David Nuttall is the one who is “fearful” – the 2020 election draws nearer and the Tories know they will not have enough votes to secure a majority and if ever the right wingers stop stabbing it’s members and Jeremy Corbyn in the back, Labour will be in power, not them. Even if the right wing Labour MP’s do screw it’s members over and Labour lose the 2020 election as a consequence, the Tories will still not get the eleven million votes they had in 2015 – they’ve done too much damage to the NHS, the economy, education and working families.
