Keir Starmer on the Tories’ appeal to the Supreme Court on Brexit: ‘What a waste of time and money’

Last Updated: January 24, 2017By

Here’s Sir Keir Starmer responding to this morning’s judgment from the Supreme Court that Parliament must give its approval to trigger the process of leaving the EU.

He’s right – what a waste of time and money!

In fact, it is hard to deny any of Sir Keir’s words. His argument is persuasive.

Theresa May isn’t convinced. When we see her in the clip, her eyes are narrowed and it is clear her thoughts are venomous.

And what about you. Are you convinced by him? Or do you agree with her?

Let’s have your opinions.

    For many years I have thought that Tories are only interested in the law when it suits them. If it doesn’t suit them they treat it and the judiciary with contempt.

    Don’t think she was as venemous I think “more embarrassed”. and so she should be as well. They should make her pay the cost of the court out of her own pocket.

    If I were May I’d ennoble enough Tory Lords to make sure the House of Lords was a lapdog as long as the Conservative Party was still in government, and tell any pro EU Tory MP that they would never get a government job as long as I were still Prime Minister if they did not vote the way I wanted them to.

    He is right and one should ask who funded Gina Millar’s wasting so much time and tax payers money essentially achieving nothing.

    And in a parallel universe;

    UCLH partners with Atos for 10 year digital transformation push;

    ‘The [ATOS] contract with UCLH represents an attempt by the company to try and expand its footprint in healthcare technology in England at a time when some significant technology contracts for NHS trusts are expected to go to market.’
