The Telegraph faces a showdown with the press regulator over an article which took fake news to another level [IMAGES] | The Canary

This Site reported on the plan at the heart of the story here.

The problem with the Torygraph story is the way it was written – claims made by the writer (and approved by the editor) that were not part of information provided by the government.

To find out why the newspaper’s story “stinks” (in the words of Canary suprema Kerry-Anne Mendoza), you’ll have to visit that organisation’s website. It’s The Canary‘s story, triggered by a complaint from its researcher.

The Telegraph is under investigation by the press regulator, for printing what an independent researcher described as “inflammatory” and “xenophobic” comments about minority communities.

The article contained falsehoods about a government scheme to force people to show ID when they vote, and inflated fears of voter fraud being a higher risk in Muslim communities.

Or basically a showdown with the Editors’ Committee of IPSO, run by Paul Dacre of the Daily Mail and Tom Newton Dunn of The Scum.

I wonder how that will pan out………?
