Melania Trump’s libel lawsuit against Daily Mail dismissed by Maryland judge but UK case is ongoing

Last Updated: February 3, 2017By

This result was expected. It is the legal case filed in the UK that is exercising the Heil‘s lawyers, and we should all keep an eye on further developments.

A Maryland judge has dismissed first lady Melania Trump’s libel lawsuit against Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper over an article that contained insinuations that she had worked as an escort.

Montgomery County circuit judge Sharon Burrell ruled on Thursday to dismiss the suit against Mail Media Inc, the corporation that publishes the Daily Mail’s website. The Daily Mail’s argument centered on whether the lawsuit should have been filed in Maryland and whether Trump was suing the correct corporate entity.

Trump has also filed a lawsuit against the paper in London.

The nasty newspaper and nasty people falling out with each other. Highly amusing.

It was dismissed on a technicality. Her case against the Mail will be fought in the UK, not the USA.

I dont understand why she wont address claims by the “Young Turks” who uncovered evidence of her working illegally in the US on a visitors visa
