Enemy of the people: Peter Mandelson

Last Updated: February 21, 2017By

Lord Mandelson: Working against the interests of the Labour Party – and the UK at large.

If Lord Mandelson is working “every single day” to end Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party, then he is an enemy of the British people.

Any attempt to topple Mr Corbyn is a de facto attempt to destabilise the Labour Party – and we have seen that such efforts, like last year’s attempted coup, have a disastrous effect on Labour’s poll ratings.

So Mr Mandelson is actually saying he wants to ruin Labour’s chances of winning an election. He probably came out and said it now in an attempt to nobble Labour’s chances of winning the Copeland and Stoke-on-Trent Central by-elections.

Such a man – like Tony Blair before him – has no regard for the Labour Party and should not be part of it. But, like Blair, he has made it clear that he has no intention of leaving. He wants to cause as much damage as he possibly can.

Look at the things Mandelson has been saying:

“It’s as if he’s in a parallel universe. He’ll gravitate to whatever revolt, insurrection, every protest movement in sight.

Perhaps this peer has forgotten, but Mr Corbyn has been right in the vast majority of causes he has supported. That doesn’t support Mandy’s narrative, though, so it remains unmentioned by him.

“He’s been like this for 35 years. He was not a frequent supporter of the last Labour government – he voted against it 500 times!”

Yes – and that is an indictment against the last Labour government, not against Jeremy Corbyn.

Corbyn didn’t take the UK into a pointless war in Iraq.

Corbyn didn’t introduce a punitive new ‘benefit’ system designed to harm claimants.

Corbyn didn’t allow private money into NHS healthcare services.

The fact is that Mandelson is now firmly ensconced as a member of the Establishment that will do anything to stop political policies being enacted that actually benefit the people of the UK, rather than the super-rich.

He wants a Labour Party with elites like him at the top – as MPs or lords – with the proles beneath, slaving away to ensure they get to continue enjoying their lavish champagne lifestyles.

But the party has spoken – twice – endorsing Jeremy Corbyn and his populist (in the original sense of being for the majority and having widespread support) policies.

Mandelson’s time is over.

Is he really too stupid to realise that?

I can only echo your comments Mike and ask what useful purpose, if any at all, this man thinks he is serving for any of the British public. I think he would do better to go and look for some hobby elsewhere.

I’ve always known him as Mandelslime, a real snake in the grass and a backstabber. He should cross the floor to join the Tory Lords.
