BBC is ‘failing in its duty to be impartial over Brexit’ – say LEAVE-supporting TORIES!

Last Updated: March 22, 2017By

Former Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith is among the 70 signatories of the letter.

It is astonishing that they think they can get away with saying this without being questioned.

BBC coverage was, itself, too unquestioning; if enough ‘Leave’ claims had been challenged – like the lie that £350 million a week was being given to the EU (it wasn’t) that could go to the NHS instead – the result of the referendum might have been different – as a leading ‘Vote Leave’ figure has admitted.

The BBC is failing in its duty to be impartial over Brexit, a group of parliamentarians has claimed. In a letter to senior BBC figures, they said the broadcaster had characterised Britain as xenophobic and focused too much on regretful leave voters.

The 76-strong group, made up mainly of Conservative MPs and including former cabinet ministers, warned the BBC’s director general, Tony Hall, and the incoming chair of its new governing body, David Clementi, that the broadcaster’s future might be in jeopardy if it was not seen as neutral.

“The corporation’s focus on ‘regretful’ leave voters, despite there being no polling shift towards remain since the referendum, has led some to believe it is putting its preconceptions before the facts,” they wrote. “Meanwhile, the posturing and private opinions of EU figures are too often presented as facts, without the vital context that they are talking tough ahead of the exit negotiations.”

Already the nasty Brexiteers, led by the arch-fraudster Duncan-Smith are getting their excuses ready and their targets in sight for the blame for when their pipe-dreams all go horribly wrong.

No the BBC is simply refusing to be impartial!
Please, no more ‘they told lies’; They’re mp’s does anyone ACTUALLY believe a single word any of them speak any more?!
They are professional liars, concerned merely with their own wealth and welfare, this country and its inhabitants are simply a means to an end to them!

Look at what IDS has got away with already. Why be surprised he’d try for more?

The BBC was undoubtedly pro eu before during and after the referendum, the strange claim that it is only tory mp’s that believe this, given that most were remain supporters headed by cameron and osbourne, Indeed the BBC claims of regretful leave supporters is obtuse given that he polls, if we believe them show an increase in leave supporters after the vote.
