Labour’s manifesto approved unanimously by NEC and shadow cabinet – after leaked version wins huge public support

Last Updated: May 11, 2017By

Apparently this is a T-shirt design. Perhaps we should all buy one and wear it when we vote on June 8.

It was a stroke of genius for the Labour Party – having the draft 2017 election manifesto leaked.

Presumably, whoever did it intended mischief, but that backfired massively, didn’t it?

We had a preview of fabulous policy after fabulous policy – stealing the news agenda away from the Tories effortlessly.

The Tory press, desperate for a way to discredit it, tried to claim that Jeremy Corbyn is trying to drag the UK back to the 1970s. What a shame they forgot that income inequality reached its lowest point in the 1970s – so, for many, a return to the conditions of that period is a good idea!

The TV news companies, desperate for a way to discredit Labour, concentrated on the plight of a BBC cameraman who let Jeremy Corbyn’s car roll over his foot. Doesn’t that show up the cameraman, rather than Labour? Who is silly enough to get in the way of a moving vehicle? And even if it wasn’t the cameraman’s fault, ask yourself – how much of the manifesto did Mr Corbyn’s driver write?

Later, Mr Corbyn emerged from a joint meeting of Labour’s Shadow Cabinet and National Executive Committee to announce that, after a few tweaks, the manifesto had been unanimously approved and would be released in a few days.

He said: “Our manifesto will be an offer… that will transform the lives of many people in our society and ensure that we have a government in Britain that will… give everyone in our society a decent opportunity and a decent chance, so nobody is forgotten, nobody’s ignored, and nobody is left behind.”

See for yourself:

This is a prime minister in waiting.

All you need to do is make sure everyone around you wakes up to the fact that the BBC and all the other Tory stooges are lying when they tell you Mr Corbyn “isn’t a leader” and Mrs May is a “strong and stable leader”.

We all know that’s a load of guff – right?

I mean, where was Mrs May while all of the above was going on?

Ah, yes:

Lost in an office in Southampton. What a shame she didn’t stay there.

May moves her head like she is a marionette puppet with someone above pulling the strings. I say no more.

I don’t believe any of the leaks coming from parties anywhere in the world where elections are about to take place are true leaks but just a toe in the water test, if it goes well, keep it, if it doesn’t, change it and say it was something you had considered, but rejected.

Genius. Both the policies and leaking it. Totally avoided any silly business. All those diary date for next week, all those planned schedules of TV and radio and MSM, all those who wanted to pour scorn or damn with faint praise, always with the “but” clause about the leader. Now the MSM have printed every last policy verbatim. Genius.

Saved a lot of publicity costs which do not go against local electoral spends. Just got to get the Labour votes away from their tvs for just a small amount of time to ensure these plans get started. Missed a trick in not turning that Nat West Bank of Scotland into a Peoples bank we already own it and just selling it off at diddly squat seems yet another total waste

The Manifesto is ambitious, for sure; I hope that Jeremy & Co haven’t bitten off more than they can chew; that an awful lot of Tory mess to undo.
By the way, what was Theresa May doing in an empty building?
(I was going to call her a name but we must not stoop to their [the Tories’] level.
