Feeble Tory promise on workers’ rights is a sham

Are we really stupid enough to believe a Conservative leader’s promise on workers’ rights that she refused to provide only a few months ago?
Theresa May promised effusively that she would put worker representation on company boards when she was campaigning to be Conservative Party leader (and prime minister) last year.
And what did she do, when she had the chance?
And you know the worst part of this? It’s the cynicism.
She told you all she would do it once before, and you all believed it. Then she as good as admitted it was a lie.
Now she’s promising it again, because she thinks you’ll believe it. What is it?
A lie. Of course.
But then, what should we really expect from an announcement of the “biggest expansion of workers’ rights by any Conservative government”?
Workers’ rights have always been improved by Labour.
And what do people think of it? Here’s Anastasia Kyriacou, on the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire show:

Absolutely correct.
If you want improved rights for workers – and you should – you’ll vote Labour on June 8, and get the following:
The Tory offer doesn’t come close.
Theresa May is promising what she says would be the biggest expansion of workers’ rights by any Conservative government, if the party retains power.
Its manifesto will promise to keep all workers’ rights currently guaranteed by EU law, put worker representation on company boards and protect pensions.
There would also be a statutory right to a year’s unpaid leave to care for a relative, under the election plans.
But Labour said Mrs May was “taking working people for fools”.
And the GMB union said its members would “believe it when they see it”.

The only interest Tories have in ordinary working people is clamping down on them as hard and as authoritarian as they possibly can. Remember everyone, Theresa May and her fraudsters tell bare-faced lies.
The Tories are running scared now that they know the public have been awakened to their attempts to stay in power by promising us all the earth. I believe Jeremy Corbyn when he makes a promise but I certainly am not stupid enough to put such faith in any Tory promises.
a lot of them are empty promises anyway. With no real benefit.
They don’t come bigger liars than the Tories, the triple lock they want to do away with and human right they want to cut and then they say they are going to look after me yes they would stave me and kick me out of my home

The crucial part of the statement is “by any Conservative government.” That doesn’t imply great change, given the Conservative’s record. I always ask people, what is it that you think that they are trying to conserve?
By the way, there are nine persons in that photograph who are being forced, probably against their collective will, to endure that “photo opportunity.”
