More adulation for Corbyn – more exclusion for Theresa May

Last Updated: May 21, 2017By

For the very very many: Jeremy Corbyn

It was business as usual for the main party leaders in the UK’s general election campaign on Saturday (May 20).

Jeremy Corbyn was treated like a rock star wherever he went – including a concert by an actual band The Libertines.

Theresa May likewise received the reception she deserved.

Mr Corbyn’s day began in Birmingham. I’m afraid I have no footage of this. But then he went to West Kirby Beach in Wirral West, where his speech went like this:

Notice that he mentioned free school dinners; Theresa May wants to end the limited provision that currently exists, to be replaced with school breakfasts that, she hopes, few people will take up. They have lower nutritional value and are cheaper, too.

And he trailed Labour’s new plan, the Pupil Arts Premium, to be announced on Monday. He continued:

“Let’s do it for all those that went before; let’s do it for those who are going to come” – stirring words in a country where many people have died as a result of Conservative government policies.

Then he rocked up at an actual rock concert – a Libertines gig in Prenton Park. Here’s some of what he had to say:

Perhaps more revealing is this video, showing the way the crowd responded to him – with nothing short of adulation:

Meanwhile, it would be unfair not to mention Theresa May. She managed to make it to one behind-closed-doors event, in west London – where she needed police protection:

That’s the difference – and the choice: A Conservative who needs protection from people who hate her, or a Labour leader who is loved wherever he goes.

Don’t let the Tory-run media mislead you.

Make the right choice on June 8: Vote Labour and get the government we all need.

I live in the hope that this will continue to increase daily until we have Jeremy Corbyn as our new PM and I can feel proud to be British once more.

I presume Theresa May’s audience consisted of up to a dozen hand-picked and rigorously-vetted stooges, who would rather have been somewhere else.
