It’s the return of socialism as Labour’s poll lead continues

Last Updated: June 19, 2017By

All smiles: Jeremy Corbyn enjoys the applause at Labour’s general election campaign launch on May 9.

It is good to have something positive to write, in these troubled times of Grenfell Tower and the Finsbury Park attack: Labour is retaining its lead in the opinion polls, and increasing numbers of people are becoming open to socialism again, after decades of the so-called Neoliberal Consensus.

According to Survation – the only polling company to get the general election result more or less right – Labour has a three-point lead over the Conservative Party:

YouGov, the Tory-owned polling company, reports that people are welcoming socialism again:

And this image charts the turnaround in voting intentions over the last 41 days.

Yes – in just over a month, Labour knocked a whopping 21 percentage points off the Conservative lead, to finish three points ahead.

And, with the Tories wallowing in self-created doldrums over Brexit, Grenfell Tower, terrorism and its own leadership quarrels, Labour’s popular surge is nowhere near over yet.

So This Writer is going to make a prediction:

The longer the Conservatives delay another general election, the worse their loss will be.

Hopefully, one good push will rid us of these corrupt, fraudulent and extremely nasty Tories.
