ANOTHER electoral law breach is alleged against the Tories

Last Updated: June 23, 2017By

Look at this. It seems the Conservative Party simple can’t keep itself on the right side of electoral law.

Tory claims that they have done nothing wrong will have to be researched by the police and the Electoral Commission – again – and it may be necessary to work out which Tory MPs may have benefited as a result of this alleged lawbreaking.

Is it too much to hope that the investigation won’t take a year?

A secretive call centre operating on behalf the Conservative Party during he election campaign may have been illegal.

Call centre workers at the market research firm in Neath, South Wales, read from a script as they made thousands of calls to voters in marginal seats in the weeks leading up to the election.

But the undercover probe found the script appeared to canvass for support – which would be regulated under electoral law – rather than conducting market research – which would not.

Calls were also allegedly made on the day of the election to promote individual candidates – which could be in breach of electoral law.

It’s against the law to pay someone to canvass for a particular candidate.

The investigation also claims staff were told to say they were calling from ‘Axe Research’ – a company which does not exist.

Data Protection law says companies must reveal who they are and how the data will be used.

The Conservative Party has said it did not break the law.

Once again Tories show that they only obey the laws which suit them. I sincerely hope these allegations are properly investigated by the proper authorities – preferably the police because with their billionaire donors any fines are just paid and they continue to flout the law.

“The Conservative Party has said it did not break the law.” Wrong again it’s for the courts to decided if the law not the Conservative Party, much as they consider that it should be that way.

Surely you don’t want a rabble rouser like Corbyn trying to run the Country it will bring the disasters of the 70s back to the UK ( or maybe ex-UK as Scotland and NI might abandon a sinking ship. You were probably too young to experience the 70s when the Unions ruined the Country ‘

Thank you for giving me a little laugh.
No, I’m not too young to remember the 1970s, when an oil shock engineered by right-wingers internationally created economic crises in the UK that forced unions to take action in the interests of their members. Please don’t try to patronise me by suggesting that I am, and don’t try to lie to us about the causes of those issues.
As for Jeremy Corbyn, he and his party are the only ones with a workable plan. Surely YOU don’t want a corrupt fool like Theresa May trying to run the UK into the ground?

That old “back to the 70s!” When a working man could support his family on a 40 hour week wage! And business leaders only got 8x the average persons salary! Terrible times!!!

to Peter……….better a rabble rouser who CARES about his constituents and the people of this country. who wants to put a stop to the misery this government has caused to ordinary people and are still causing. add the deaths of those who died in grenfell towers to the thousands caused by sanctions, esa assessments, making people get a job who are clearly not fit to work, some of whom were in hospital on their death beds when they were told they were fit for work. Corbyn wants a decent life for everyone. its not for the Tories to ruin the only lives we are given…. while they live it up in their ivory towers that have sprinkler systems, electronic gates etcetc. no one asks to be made redundant or for their firm to collapse leaving them jobless. no one asks to be ill or become disabled,. or to grow old come to that. as i remember it,(and i am coming up 75 now, back in the 70s we were a struggling family on low income wages. i had just given up work as a low paid nurse to start a family. but we were a hundred times better off than most young families nowadays. i loved the 70s. even 76 when we had stand pipes that summer. it was fun going from supermarket to supermarket to find the best deals. then try and make meals from next to nothing for a family of 4. and i am not being sarcastic.i was proud of my achievements.so dont DISS the 70s.. because they were nothing like as bad as we have had in the past 6 years since the tories started showing their true agenda.

Theres no way “up to a hundred people on zero-hours contracts” for several weeks doesn’t have an impact. I wonder how many online equivalents they also used?
