These comments on the Tory conference suggest the toffs are heading for hard times

The Tory vulture crouches over the symbol of the NHS in a revealing scene from the demonstration against the Conservatives in Manchester on Saturday (September 30).

And about time too.

While the atmosphere within the Conservative Party Conference chamber in Manchester is funereal, it seems there has been a festival outside the doors every day – mostly dedicated to the downfall of the people inside.

Thousands of people have gathered to voice their disgust at Tory mismanagement of the UK’s affairs. Here are just a few of the comments, images and movie clips that This Writer has spotted so far. The first few images and videos are from the Tories Out march on Saturday (September 30:

Two members of a Labour Party branch with which the writer of This Site may have some connection, doing what I would have liked to have been doing on Saturday.

We know that Conservative policy on benefits is to starve claimants to death.

The facts about austerity.

Banners proudly displayed on the march.

He might be a little shy in this pic, but of course Spider-Man is on the side of the people.

Among the speakers, John Rees said: “There may be a govt in waiting, but we’re not waiting. It matters how this one falls – it needs to be mass strikes, protest and direct action… and that is how we will defend an anti-austerity, anti-imperialist government.”

Tory commenter Matthew Parris summed up the feeling about the conference very well on Saturday, before it even started:

Quoted verbatim: “Well it’s Saturday now and I still don’t care. This Conservative government is finished. Over. Toast. Dead meat. Broken. Sunk. Wrecked… all the words we use in place of a word we don’t. They can do what they like, think what they like, announce what they like, promise what they like but it’s useless now, it’s all too late.

“On the morning after the last general election George Osborne called Theresa May a dead woman walking. If anything he understated. Her personal political death occurred on the pronouncement of the exit poll on election day. Reanimated the following morning, she’s now a zombie prime minister leading a zombie cabinet in a zombie party gathering in Manchester for a conference of the walking dead. Whatever these zombies’ message may sound like within the security zone, from outside we will only see mouths moving without sound or meaning. Their leader is done for and their credibility is shot.”

Twitter produced some fabulous images. This one was particularly enjoyable, considering the recent antics of the Blonde Boor:

He came in for even more of a battering (sorry!) in this fish-themed cartoon:

The next video is a sped-up wander through the demonstration against austerity, outside the conference on Sunday (October 1).

Remember the furore over snipers on the rooftops at the Tory conference last year? Well, it seems they’re back!

But it seems the police weren’t happy in their work this year:

And what of the atmosphere in the conference hall itself? Let’s consider some of the comments:

There was an interesting side discussion on the age of Conservative Party members:

Individual Tory MPs have been messing up all over the conference as well – but you’ll see separate articles about them.

Wish they’d speed up their demise.

It breaks my heart to see whats happening to the Tory parties fortunes in Manchester. Had it not been for Cameron pandering to UKIP and the vitriolic polices of a few outsiders disguised as austerity, surely the party would not now be poisoned by the inevitable toxic fallout of it’s actions. Those Tories who meant well, haven’t lied, put the country first, even been competent, have been swamped by the disgusting behavior of a few. They can not all be the same can they, well maybe some, many, perhaps most, yes, I’m struggling to find one, can anyone help?

I agree with John Rees, we cannot afford to wait while this excuse for a government destroys normal people’s lives in the interest of their own greed and we do need the Unions to get up to speed. If the Tories manage to cling on to power for much longer they will do untold damage to decent people and the economy.

Fish unfairly compared to… unspeakables! As for Woolworth; at least that was useful!
