Nine reasons campaigners are concerned at Esther McVey’s return to the DWP | Huffington Post

Esther McVey: Like a bad penny, she keeps turning up.

It’s lovely to see the more mainstream press following this site with more information about Ms McVey’s behaviour during her last period as a member of Parliament.

This is posted in the hope that the HuffPost provided information that may have been omitted from This Writer’s piece.

Esther McVey’s appointment as Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has been met with anger by Labour MPs and campaigners, who have highlighted cuts and comments she made in her previous role at the department.

McVey was appointed on Monday after then education secretary Justine Greening rejected an offer from Theresa May to move to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), choosing to resign instead.

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell once referred to McVey as a “stain of inhumanity” for pursuing policies like the bedroom tax. McDonell later refused to apologise saying he was quoting a constituent. She later slammed McDonnell for linking “violence with politics”.

Underlining the sentiment among many in the Opposition, Labour MP Luciana Berger slammed a “terrible appointment.

May has appointed her new attack dog to replace Michael Fallon. Trained by IDS and skills honed on the sick and disabled, she’s the perfect vicious replacement.
God help those on UC now.

No doubt about it McVey is an extremely nasty and odious piece of work. Hopefully her malign presence will help bring about the downfall of this shambolic minority government.

The fact that she accepted this position shows a malignancy in her nature that goes beyond just plain deceit.

Tories are unfit to govern by the very nature they can only destroy and build nothing but hate and bile.

A classic case of Marie Antoinette let them eat cake, but this vile creature knows differently.

The PM’s unjustifiable promotion of Cruella DeVile to Secretary of State for Work and Pensions has been followed with lies, and it just shows that even though three court of appeal judges criticised McVile by saying she was fully aware of the very real adverse consequences of closing the Independent Living Fund would have on the lives of many of the more severely disabled.
