Who’s the biggest threat to national security – Corbyn or Johnson?

Last Updated: February 17, 2018By

I know who I’d say – but let’s find out what you think.

You’ve got to smile at the UK’s mainstream press, haven’t you? Their respective circulations are in a death spiral – some say because of their arrogant insistence on forcing fake news into our eyeballs – so, in a desperate attempt to improve their circulations, they shovel some more rubbish at our retinas.

Last week, The Sun decided to smear Jeremy Corbyn –

– with a claim that he met a spy for the evil Communist regime of – where was it? – Czechoslovakia!

Jeremy Corbyn met a communist spy at the height of the Cold War and warned him of a clampdown by British intelligence, according to secret files obtained by The Sun.

Mr Corbyn was vetted by Czech agents in 1986 and met one at least three times — twice in the Commons, it was claimed.

Gosh. That would cause the Labour leader a huge amount of reputational harm, wouldn’t it?

… If only it were true. Here‘s the Mirror:

While Mr Corbyn confirmed he met with a diplomat, he denied ever knowingly speaking to a spy.

A spokesman for Jeremy Corbyn said: “Like other MPs, Jeremy has met diplomats from many countries. In the 1980s he met a Czech diplomat, who did not go by the name of Jan Dymic, for a cup of tea in the House of Commons. Jeremy neither had nor offered any privileged information to this or any other diplomat.

“During the Cold War, intelligence officers notoriously claimed to their superiors to have recruited people they had merely met.”

At least one newspaper in the Czech republic has confirmed Mr Corbyn’s story:

British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn… probably did not know whom he was meeting at the time, and he does not figure as an StB aide in archive files, Svetlana Ptacnikova said on Thursday.

Ptacnikova heads the Czech Security Forces Archive that keeps documents of the now defunct StB.

True, Corbyn did meet an StB officer who is referred to as Jan Dymic in the documents, but he considered him a diplomat, Ptacnikova said, adding that The Sun’s headline branding Corbyn a communist spy definitely does not correspond to reality.

The Sun story has attracted exactly the sort of attention one would expect:

But this hasn’t stopped certain other papers from following The Sun over the credibility cliff.

Meanwhile, social media sources like the ever-efficacious Pride’s Purge have been pointing out the hypocrisy of publishing fake news about Mr Corbyn when there is factual information about Conservative ministers’ associations with genuine spies.

Tom Pride published the photo at the top of the page, with the following information:

Sergey Nalobin – on the left – is a pro-Putin Russian intelligence agent based at the Russian embassy in London who has been exposed as the main agent charged with forging contacts with leading UK politicians.

Sergey’s ‘good friend’ on the right is apparently quite an important figure in the Tory Party and I’m told holds a fairly important position in Theresa May’s government.

Given all the above information, This Site has just one question to ask:

Pity the right-wing press doesn’t remind people about the real traitors. Those stalwarts of the Establishment like Anthony Blunt, Kim Philby, Guy Burgess et al.

The word “Commie” is the dead giveaway. It’s not seen the light of day since the Cold War. Clear proof that the Mail/Sun/Telegraph and their readers still live in a bygone era when , even then, they consumed fake news before it was supposed to have been invented.
Corbyn has already established his historic role in British politics but, maybe, there is another accolade ie. the last Labour leader who could be (chronologically possible) accused of being a Soviet agent. In a few years, such accusations will sound like the ravings of journalists still fighting the English Civil War. The establishment are really desperate!

Thinking of the right wing [press and the Mail in particular, wasn’t it the Mail which
put out fake news publishing the Zinoviev letter accusing Labour, donkey’s years ago, of being in cahoots with Stalin? Few remember the Zinoviev letter, Stalin’s long gone, but some things never change, like the Daily Mail.

These attempts to discredit Corbyn all of a sudden seems to me a clear indication that a General Election is imminent !
