Acting Ukip leader epitomises the bigotry and intolerance at the heart of Brexit

Incredible, isn’t it? Gerard Batten was only installed as acting leader of UKIP yesterday (February 18) and already he has been forced to defend bigoted remarks.

This is the party that forced us into the EU referendum and set the agenda, folks!

It is the party of Little Englanders – the party of xenophobia – the party that promotes fear of anybody who isn’t white, middle-class, well-off and English.

The party of the small-minded.

And in the referendum, it persuaded enough of us into its small mindset to push us out of the protection offered by the EU and into a wilderness of deregulation, lost rights and lower standards.

When you look at UKIP – as epitomised by all its leaders, including Nigel Fuhrage – you look at the ugly face of Britain today.

Acting Ukip leader Gerard Batten has defended his description of Islam as a “death cult” and claimed a “significant minority” of Muslims are extremists who want to be martyred.

London MEP Mr Batten, who took over at the head of the crisis-hit party after Henry Bolton was ousted on Saturday, said Islam “glorifies death”.

He said Muslim migrants coming to the UK should reject the “dark age ideologies which many of them bring with them” through a literalist interpretation of the Koran.

Indeed the remainders claims that the British are inherently idle that we need an unelected committee in Brussels to ensure we continue with watered down employment laws and to negotiate on our behalf are bigoted ant British xenophobes

UKIP is one of the successors to right-wing fascist groups going back to Mosley’s British Union of Fascists, the National Front founded in the 1960s, the BNP and the equally nasty Britain First. For a long time UKIP managed to hide its evil bigoted racism, but it has now been exposed for the racist party it really is. It is also interesting that many UKIP people have defected back to the Tory Party – that too speaks volumes about the nasty Tories.
