It just gets worse and worse for David Davis, doesn’t it?

He knows he’s got the worst job in the government and he knows he’s doing about as badly at it as possible. So we get this load of old tripe:

Britain will not be “plunged into a Mad Max-style world borrowed from dystopian fiction” after it leaves the EU, the Brexit secretary has said.

David Davis said the UK wanted to lead a “global race to the top” in rights and standards not, as some feared, a “competitive race to the bottom”.

British business could “never be cheaper than China” and must focus instead on product and service quality.

He also suggested a Brexit deal by the end of 2018 was “well on the cards”.

Let’s balance that with a healthy amount of what we know:

Of course, the mention of dystopia has got some journalistic heads spinning. The Guardian spun out a whole article on the possibilities.

One thing’s for sure: The last kind of Brexit we can expect is a good one.

It won’t be any kind of dystopia.

Davis is, of course, a proven liar and also he is a self-confessed dimwit.
