Homeless man dies in sub-zero temperatures – another victim of Tory persecution?

Last Updated: February 24, 2018By

Rob O’Connor, of no fixed abode, Chelmsford, died in a former catalogue shop doorway, overnight between Thursday and Friday.

There was no good reason for him to be there, other than that the Conservative government wanted him to be homeless and was reckless about whether he would die.

The number of homeless people in the UK has skyrocketed since the Conservatives oozed back into office in 2010.

This is due to Tory policies designed to drive people out of their homes – like the Bedroom Tax, benefit sanctions, and restrictions on qualification conditions for sickness and disability benefits.

But research has shown that it costs governments more to have people living on the streets than it does to house them; it simply doesn’t make economic sense for them to be living on the streets.

We can only conclude that this death is due to the vindictiveness of a Conservative government that enjoys pushing people to their deaths.

A man, believed to be sleeping rough, has been found dead in the doorway of an empty catalogue store following a cold and frosty night.

Police were called to the store in Springfield Road, Chelmsford, by the ambulance service at about 11.10 GMT.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner, police said.

Temperatures dropped below 0C (32F) locally early on Friday, according to the BBC’s regional weather service.

    AAARGH! I CANNOT STAND IT!!

This could be me, poor accommodation under threat if I raised disrepair and local Labour colluded with rogue landlords to aid in evIction of most vulnerable. Dont ask me to support them.

I slept on the streets during my fathers death and funeral. THANKS HASTINGS CLP

Had a policy of NOT GOING OUT to tenants complaining of rogue landlords, dangerous disrepair and harassment and abuse and children having chest infections and asthma. Asthma is a killer.

I am very very lucky got where I am by own stealth despite cognitive impairment. THANKS YOU B*****DS!

But was attacked and abused spit on and pissed on as female severe disabled on streets. THANKS!

DISGUSTING, REVOLTING AND LABOUR HAS AS MUCH TO ANSWER.

I now put people up in small flat usually on floor – with food.

A constituency Labour Party has no influence on the behaviour of councils or government; it’s simply an organisational unit of the Labour Party itself.

Hastings Borough Council is currently controlled by Labour, as it has been since 2010. But how much of its activity is constrained by lack of funding from the Conservatives? And was Labour in control when you were on the streets?
