Right speech, wrong speaker: List of women killed by men in last year read by MP who offered to stab her own leader

Last Updated: March 10, 2018By

Jess Phillips: Hypocrite?

It is appropriate for Parliament to be told the names of women who were killed due to violence caused by men in the last year, on International Women’s Day.

It is not appropriate for Jess Phillips to do the telling.

Here’s another woman, to explain:

See? The fact that Ms Phillips was the speaker detracted from the message.

It is no good deploring violence by members of one sex against another if you have actually threatened it yourself.

An MP left the Commons in silence today as she read out the names of 104 women “killed by male violence” in the last year.

Jess Phillips solemnly honoured the sisters, daughters and mothers killed by men since last year’s International Women’s Day – a tradition she began in 2016.

Poignantly, three more names had to be added to the list at the last moment due to killings that happened over the weekend.

As MPs listened a number shut their eyes as if in prayer. It took more than four minutes to read the list.

Anyone comes out with that sort of thing as first thing on their mind and their first reaction is not someone I want speaking or representing me

I have a temper and a half when it comes to rights and injustice. I have to clam up, shake and walk away and swallow after dealing with someone who supports violence, rape and pedophilia disability hate or elder hate and abuse and feel the indignation choke me.

But I have never felt like stabbing, glassing razorblading clawhammering shooting harming or burning and machetting anyone or anything or their property

And I dont want such a person representing or speaking for me.

Jess Philips is not the best example of women from a working class background

She is a caracature like people think Bet Lynch and Elsie Tanner are examples typical of norther working class. Well she is not. She is a JOKE

I can think of a lot better who are better behaved and have a better mouth and brains and social skills

She is part of a party that has perpetrated Economic violence on hundreds of women by denying them the means to survive, where were their names?

In trying to politically injure JC, it has backfired and made them look hypocrital and evil. It was my birthday on international women’s day and I still wish I had never been born!!!

    I truly hate this woman.
Sorry, I know, not exactly politically correct, or appropriate, yet, consider……

A.Her performance yesterday on BBCRADIO4, where she all but called a socialist Labour party a bygone dream, and utterly gushed over her friendship with Jacob Reese-Mogg.

    B. Her completely barefaced lies over her office being attacked.

    C. She is a Blairite, would SHOULD automatically disqualify her from representing any even vaguely socialist agenda or group.

I truly do not comprehend, outside of the utter corruption in parliament, how this vile thing still has a job.

Seconded, Ian. The people of Yardley have a lot to answer for. They’d do well to redeem themselves, come the next election.

By the way, it was angela (ill)eagle (My MP, unfortunately) lied about #brickgate (amongst other things)

The people of Wallasey’d do well to redeem themselves at the next election, too. :)
