‘Shameful’: widespread outrage over man denied NHS cancer care |The Guardian

Last Updated: March 14, 2018By

Politicians, doctors and cancer charities have responded with outrage to the case of a Londoner asked to pay £54,000 for cancer treatment because he was unable to provide evidence of residency, despite having lived here for 44 years.

Albert Thompson, 63, arrived in the UK from Jamaica as a teenager in 1973, and has lived here continuously ever since. He is currently not receiving the radiotherapy treatment he needs for prostate cancer because the London hospital where he was due to be treated told him he needed to provide proof of residencyor pay upfront for treatment.

    YES!

People have missed that when govt cracks down on immigrants in order to look popular. they have not been able to crack down on EU migration as that is something UK and EU countries have to accept with open migration

But they have been cracking down and targetting those who come and came from traditional commonwealth countries such as west indies, india asia and new commonweatlh of canada australia and new zealand

People who have been here since 1950s and their children have been targetted to be victimised and removed and sent back and denied services and treatment although worked in this country most of life and decades

    YEP WAKEY WAKEY!

This has been going on for ages. makes for the targets of removing immigrants just does not tell you how they have been doing it

and most have paid into the system all these years

I understand this man has grown up, worked and lived in the UK. So he has no doubt paid N.I. Conts. Is the DWP going to refund this money to him and they have been taking it under false pretences.
