Latest theory on the Skripals is that they are suffering from FOOD POISONING. And the policeman?

Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia: It is more likely that they would recover from eating dodgy porridge than from a deadly nerve agent.

The theories about the Salisbury poisoning are getting wilder and wilder – or are they?

When the story first broke about former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia having been poisoned, a commenter to This Site suggested the following:

As soon as I heard about this case, the symptoms immediately made me think of botulism food poisoning. A good friend nearly died from botulism from tinned tuna, becoming ill nearly 48 hrs after eating it. She was in a coma for a week. Its a very serious, often fatal poisoning, and is non-infectious, and the botulism toxin disrupts nerve function.

The cereal brought to Mr Skripal contained buckwheat, we are told, and I understand buckwheat honey is capable of carrying botulism. Whether that translates to this foodstuff, I am not qualified to speculate.

Signs and symptoms of foodborne botulism include:
  • Difficulty swallowing or speaking.
  • Dry mouth.
  • Facial weakness on both sides of the face.
  • Blurred or double vision.
  • Drooping eyelids.
  • Trouble breathing.
  • Nausea, vomiting and abdominal cramps.
  • Paralysis.

There is certainly a similarity to the symptoms claimed of Novichok nerve agents. But is it close enough?

If it is food poisoning, what does this tell us about everything we’ve been told so far?

The authorities have told us that the poison was concentrated on the Skripals’ front door – and I’m not familiar with any Russian custom that involves smearing porridge on the entrance to one’s home.

And how could it get to the restaurant in the centre of Salisbury, or the park bench where father and daughter were found?

Come to that, how could DS Nick Bailey have been poisoned with a substance he can’t possibly have ingested?

As the stories get wilder, they are becoming harder to believe.

We’re told the woman who brought the cereal has been questioned by police, in a bid to find the alleged assassins.

That seems to be fantasy of the silliest kind. Logic suggests that – if it was food poisoning from a cereal – it was accidental, not intentional.

But Theresa May and her government leapt to accuse Russia without considering all the possibilities or consequences, and they can’t back down without being shown up as the fools they are.

Police probing the poisoning of ex-Russian agent Sergei Skripal have questioned a woman who brought him his favourite porridge from Moscow, according to new claims.

The sixty-six year old and his daughter, 33, were rushed to hospital last month after being found slumped on a bench in Salisbury in the southern English county of Wiltshire.

Almost a month later, the ex-Russian spy remains in a critical condition – but his daughter Yulia is said to be improving and conscious talking to investigators.

It is hoped she will now be able to help police clarify how the pair were poisoned and nail the assassins.

Last night it was claimed detectives have interviewed another Russian woman who brought ‘gifts’ to Sergei Skripal just before the poisoning.

Yulia had been planing to bring a bag of her father’s favourite breakfast meal of buckwheat as well as spices and bay leaves, the Sun on Sunday reports.

But she ran out of time before leaving and asked the unnamed woman to bring it instead.

This as been a joke over the weeks and now its down to Russian Porridge, don’t tell me Putin sent it him as a gift are we looking for a way out of this mess, Its been said The 33-year-old daughter of Sergei Skripal, Yulia Skripal, visited her”Vkontakte” page – sort of a Russian version of Facebook – on the morning of March 7th, three days after the “assassination” attempt that put her allegedly in a coma, until just a few days ago. She was poisoned, according to the British government, along side her father Sergei, and according to the official version, hasn’t regained consciousness until quite recently. Next we will have James Bond in on the act

Very interesting development I had wondered if dodgy vodka was involved but this new evidence sounds much more productive. And yes what a major Cons PR disaster especially internationally if found correct what a load of fools our so called Intelligence will look and how quick to hit Russia as their US puppet masters would encourage. In the UK we are used to be treated like plebs and not worth explaining what courses of action, right or wrong, our beloved leaders take on our behalf. Same as the Iraq war and being duped, by our so called Elite, into a conflict that had no weapons of mass destruction……yes why we no longer trust the powers that be we have good reasons.

Porridge?….Hmmm…. Did you know that there is a town called Moscow in Scotland ?

No more ridiculous a connection that the “defininite conclusions” that have been reached by our trusted Government

They did both have the £12.95 Seafood Risotto at Zizzi’s and were ill shortly afterwards. It was “of a type developed by Italy, or similar concoction”…

Something that really concerns me is the outsourcing of our National Security by the MOD which is supposedly designed to combat the “Red Menace”

You suppose Cambridge Analytica were earmarked for some of these projects before getting caught with their pants down ?

Botulism is more commonly found in “artisan” or home cured foods, where the spores of the organism are not killed off by heating / pickling / preserving, but grow in the absence of oxygen in the “finished” product. I would suspect food poisoning from foods “from the homeland” where speciality regional / farmgate produce is a delicacy and often requested by expats. (Honey is a source of botulism too, hence the advice that infants under the age of 12 months should not be fed any honey at all.)

The botulism toxin affects the nervous system but through different pathways to the insecticides / weed killer’s / nerve agents in the organophosporus family. This is why anyone put in a coma by nerve agents do not usually recover their full faculties if they survive the initial exposure but botulism, if survived, has far less likelihood of permanent damage to the nervous system. All such poisonings carry dangers of other organ damage.

There are many sorts of food poisoning, and can be serious to the point of life threatening. Yulia is a lucky girl to have survived this episode, and I hope both her and her father make a full recovery. Because at the centre of this is an elderly man and his daughter close to death, and in the rush to claim this poisoning for their political advantage we might overlook the simple human tragedy here .

Our trusted government ?? You are joking arent you ?? I have never in my seventy odd years known a ruling class as dirty, dodgy double dealing liars as this mob. I wouldnt let them near my toilet as they would probably leave something nasty there.

Yes, that was clearly a joke.

I’ve had carbon monoxide poisoning in a coma for a month so they could have caught that had they just come out of their house that had a faulty gas boiler as that would have taken time for the toxic to overpower them as it’s a silent odourless killer

we know they didn’t have this though as the policeman wouldn’t have fallen ill just by being in their presence

as for botulism there again not possible as that would not have affected the police offer who arrived on the scene shortly after woods of finding Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia slumped. unless of course he gave them mouth to mouth then yes, the botulism spore would have been transferred to him and hence he too fell ill

hopefully Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia will recover so that they will be able to give a full account of that day leading up to this tragic incident

Will we ever know the truth? I doubt it because the Establishment was looking for a foreign “dispute” to take the heat off its own nastiness and incompetence and this was a convenient opportunity.

So Yulia is conscious and “helping the police with their inquiries”? yet, as a Russian citizen, she is being denied access from the Russian Consul? On what grounds? If this turns out to be dodgy porridge then I am sure that the UK government will have to kill her to maintain their pretence.

The whole thing stinks. The most depressing thing is the lack of accountability of our press. Where is the investigative journalism? The interview with the policemen. The daily watch at the hospital. Nothing. Zero, zilch. Instead the whole nmedia establishment is tracking Corbyn to see if he spends passover with the right type of Jews. It’s like watching a right wing coup slowly engulf us like a silent tsunami. Deeply depressing.

As I said last week, it’s looking more and more certain May will have to apologise.
The ensuing election will bring in Labour and the ‘elite’ don’t want Corbyn, who will destroy their agenda, which is why he’s being attacked so now!

The Government are wheeling a ‘Scientist’ from Porton Down out this afternoon, to give a statement.
We need to ‘listen carefully’ to what he actually says and the questions asked, bearing in mind Porton Down have already complained, for being accused of something they didn’t do.

Here goes! Fourth attempt to post! Just a wee guess but I don’t suppose it could’ve been an out-of-date can of ‘Cossack’ (soviet type) hair spray they were using could it? I was always a bit wary of that stuff back in the ‘cold war’ days. I mean, what sort self respecting Cossack would blah, blah! I think historically it was used by cavalrymen to secure those famous hats whilst engaged in furious charges but you wouldn’t need to inhale much to give the impression you were affected by ‘nerve agents’!
All will be revealed! When the ‘experts’ arrive to ‘study’ the evidence! Er, when!!!

Botulinum is an acetylcholine blocker, organophosphate nerve poisons tend to primarily block acetylcholinesterase the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine. One causes lack of acetylcholine, the other too much in the synapses. The treatments for each have to be different. Novichok is said to act on other enzymes as well though I cannot find out which pathways & which enzymes.

Shame we don’t know what treatment the Skripals received, isn’t it?
