Blogger looks for right-wing hate online and finds it easily. Where’s the media outrage?

Last Updated: May 8, 2018By Tags: , , , , ,

Read this, from the Turning the Tide blog:

“I’ve been a member of numerous Corbyn supporting Facebook groups for several years. In all that time I have not seen one threatening, anti-semitic or racist remark. So how have I missed all the virulent, vile abuse making the headlines at the moment?

“It’s definitely nowhere near as prevalent as is being implied by a media hell bent on beating Corbyn with any sticks they can lay their hands on, even if the stick is really just a twig. The reason their anti-Corbyn agenda is never called into question is because they all share it.

“Why else do they shine a whopping great spotlight on left wing abuse whilst turning a completely blind eye to any abuse that stems from the right of politics, even when it stems from Conservative Party supporters?

“I have compiled a selection of online hate for them, most of which I gathered in less than an hour by searching Conservative affiliated pages, and putting out a call on twitter. I’m no investigative journalist, but I didn’t need to be for this piece. The online hate, ranging between Islamophobia, anti-semitism, misogyny, racism, transphobia, homophobia and sheer hatred toward Corbyn, was very easy to find. And it would be easy for the media to find too, if they cared to look. But sadly they don’t.”

There follow a series of examples, of which the following is mild:

Notice the origin of this material – the Guido Fawkes blog that has provided so much of the fuel for the anti-Semitism fire that right-wing Labour MPs and the mainstream media (MSM) have been stoking for two years now.

And nothing from the MSM on this issue, even though it is right in front of them.

Are our news reporters now so poor at their jobs that they can’t do even the slightest investigation? Or is their political bias now so great that they refuse to discuss anything that could harm Conservative political chances, no matter who is harmed as a result?

Let’s have an answer, mainstream journalists. You are avoiding this story because of either ignorance or incompetence.

Which is it?

During my lifetime I have seen right wing hatred towards every Labour Party leader since Hugh Gaitskell, but never has the sheer hatred and vitriol been as concentrated as it is against Jeremy Corbyn. I believe it is a sign of how frightened they are of him and his policies. What I find disturbing is how many working class people still vote for the Tories (turkeys/Christmas etc). The fact is they have everything to gain by electing a Jeremy Corbyn government, and everything to lose by voting Tory.

Er, often the right-wing-hate and the media-outrage are one and the self same thing! Same old right-wing, same old hate, same old media, same old faux outrage, same old people involved! They’re not going away any time soon either! It must be some sort of disease!
