Pictorial protest at Birmingham job centres shows body outlines from murder crime scenes

Last Updated: June 7, 2018By

This is a work of genius.

As Universal Credit is being rolled out across Birmingham, images like that pictured above have been appearing outside the city’s Job Centres.

They show the outline of a body with one foot detached – suggesting a person with a disability. Red paint – signifying blood? – runs between the foot outline and that of the body.

And the words “Fit for work” are painted in red nearby.

Those razor-sharp brains at the Department for Work and Pensions have suggested that the images are a “protest” against benefit cuts.

Job Centres at Kings Heath, Sparkhill, Selly Oak, Ladywood and Longbridge have all been targeted but cleaning staff were mobilised quickly to clean away all signs of the graffiti.

One could say that even this is symbolic of the Conservative government’s attitude to disability.

Tory policy is, after all, to quietly deprive disabled people of their means of survival – through the Job Centre – and then hide away the evidence that any deaths have happened.

This ‘art’ work should be preserved and exhibited at the Tate and other major world galleries.

How so many of the UK populace swallowed the Tory welfare reform leaves me feeling ashamed of the society I live in.

Hopefully change is on the way.

Perfick representation of Tory attitude to the vulnerable……now try the same pavement graphic outside No. 10. As for being a protest about benefit cuts what a load of thick lame brains….. they know exactly what their unfair game plan is.
