Israeli soldier kills Palestinian for throwing a rock; IDF tries to spin the murder in its favour

Persecution on the seas: An Israeli gunboat menacing Palestinian fishing boats with bullets.

If this was the only shocking Israeli Defence Force-related incident to cross our newsfeeds today, it would still be too many. It isn’t, but look at the state of it:

So, basically, a Palestinian threw a stone at a heavily-armed IDF soldier. It hit the soldier in the head, but not hard enough to cause an injury, or to stop that person from aiming and shooting the stone-thrower dead.

Oh, the Palestinian was treated at the scene. “Despite this, the suspect died.” Suspect? The suspect is the IDF soldier who murdered someone for throwing a stone that did no damage at all! “No IDF troops were injured.” No surprise. When the conflict pits rocks against rifles, it could only end one way.

We’re told the murder happened “during an arrest” which sparked a riot at Nabi Saleh, a Palestinian village. What were IDF soldiers doing there? Who were they arresting and on what charge?

Twitter delivered its verdict:

In a report on a separate incident, New York Times reporter Isabel Kirshner wrote: “Jihad Abu Jamous, 30, from Bani Suheila, a village near Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, set off for the border in a taxi with his wife, Ghadir, and their four children. He didn’t come back. His widow said he had moved toward the fence and was shot in the head. It was not clear whether he was throwing stones at the time.”

I mention this because Norman Finkelstein made a comment on it that is pertinent to both that incident and the murder in Nabi Saleh.

He wrote: “Is Isabel Kershner saying, It’s okay to shoot him in the head if he was throwing a stone?”

Dr Finkelstein has, as is now obligatory for any critic of Israel, been accused of anti-Semitism. But to the best of This Writer’s knowledge, he has not murdered anybody.

And if you think that’s all the wrongdoing Israel has time for, think again:

Israeli gunboats have opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats while they were going about their legal business.

Remember: You support the mass murder of Palestinians every time you vote Conservative; Theresa May’s ministers have signed deals ensuring that their friends in the arms trade are making more money than ever before out of the violence by Israel against Palestine. Arms sales have nearly tripled.

So if you want to do your little bit to stop the slaughter…

Don’t vote Conservative. And tell all your friends.

One day the USA will stop providing financial and political support for it’s artificially created “country” which it supports.
