Grenfell Tower: Hundreds of children struggling with mental health issues after fire

Last Updated: June 11, 2018By

Residents living near Grenfell Tower still see the charred building every day.

Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott has it right.

She tweeted: “Hundreds of #Grenfell children struggling with mental health. One year on the government is still failing this community.”

More than 500 children have been referred for mental health treatment following the Grenfell Tower fire, according to the latest NHS figures.

They show that in the past year a total of 521 children and 2,006 adults have been seen by health teams in the area.

More than 1,600 people have been identified as being in urgent need of treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.

Tories won’t care a fig for working class people with any mental of medical health issue. They’ll just look for opportunities to enrich themselves at the expense of the sick.
