Mail goes Back To The Future with latest smear against Jeremy Corbyn

This is priceless.

Now the Mail is accusing Jeremy Corbyn of having given a speech at the wedding of a Holocaust denier.

The only problem is, the wedding happened in 2010 and Husam Zumlot’s claim that the Nazi Holocaust in Europe was fabricated by Jewish people was not made until 2014, four years later.

How was Mr Corbyn supposed to know?

Does Mail deputy political editor Glen Owen think Mr Corbyn is also a personal friend of Marty McFly and Dr Emmett Brown, and they gave him access to their time-travelling DeLorean?

Do that rag’s editors think he has personal access to the Tardis?

Perhaps they think he has a working crystal ball?

Are they deranged enough to believe that either of those time machines are real?

I doubt it. But here it is, in black and white:

Jeremy Corbyn was embroiled in a fresh anti-Semitism row last night after it was revealed that he gave a wedding speech for an alleged Holocaust ‘denier’.

Jeremy Corbyn spoke at alleged Holocaust ‘denier’ Husam Zomlot’s wedding, five years before the MP became Labour leader.

Mr Zomlot, 44, told the BBC in 2014: ‘They [Israel] are fabricating all these stories about beheading journalists in Iraq… as if they are fabricating also the story of the Holocaust, that it happened in Europe.’

Mr Corbyn became Labour leader in 2015. Five years before that was 2010, and the offensive comment was made in 2014.

He could not possibly have known that Mr Zomlot was going to say such a thing.

But I bet the usual suspects are lining up to make fools of themselves by pushing this lie as strongly as all the other smears.

The Dail Mail article states “Mr Zomlot, 44, told the BBC in 2014 etc”. A Google Search of the BBC website for 2014 does not show any mention of Husam Zumlot, which I expected to find.
I would like to form my own opinion about this, I have not found any evidence to confirm the Daily Mail’s claim. What I have found is the opposite, On the Guardian’s website dated 13 June 2014 at https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/13/palestinian-professor-resigns-students-auschwitz is a quote from Husam Zomlot “The Holocaust was a terrible crime,” the PLO official Husam Zomlot commented at the Doha conference. “But the Nazis were responsible for it. The Palestinians had nothing to do with it. The Israelis were responsible for the Nakba.” I find it hard to believe that these are the words of a holocaust denier.

Just wondering Mike, could we make scurrilous accusations about the mail and anti-Semitic. Like maybe they pushed a mainstream anti-Semitic organisation [maybe, I don’t know ,call them BUF]. Perhaps we could make up some totally unbelievable cr@p about their owner fawning over Hitler. Yeh I know, right, nobody would fall for that. If it was true I bet you’d even hear journo’s crying out in the Guardian back in 2011 not to hold the mail’s past over it.
But back to JC I must say I am very concerned that he has in the past worn a brown shirt AND also associated with people wearing both brown or black shirts. So I think that is conclusive proof.

    [tongue fully in cheek]

The nasty hate-filled rag, the Daily Mail, churns out the lies and unfortunately its readers lap them up. Surely Jeremy can sue for them for this?

Does that mean that every other guest at the wedding is also now anti-Semitic?

Does it matter? You sling enough mud… You sew enough seeds of doubt…. All that is needed is a grain of truth (Boris Johnson is expert at that, allegedly). How many people can be bothered to verify these claims? Have you read some of the comments under the article? There is a plausible narrative that is being told in the Media. I’m not sure what Jeremy Corbyn can do. His record as a campaigner for peace either is ignored, or counts against him. His record as a campaigner against racism and prejudice is ignored. His voting record is used against him. His policies are used against him. His associations are used against him. If he is silent, he is guilty, or hiding. If he speaks, he is guilty. This is propaganda at its best. When you have an audience that it apathetic about the truth, you have a “perfect storm.” I have said, before, that we are becoming a nation of sleepwalkers but the people do not realise that they are being fed sleeping pills. The internet should make it easier for us to find the truth however one has to want to and often, a concerted effort is made to hide it, with almost every website and search engine “tailored” to your wants, made more relevant to you. When will people realise that these algorithms don’t know what you want, they, very cleverly, tell you want to want and you end up believing that that’s what you want. You are herded, like sheep, to the sites that will generate the most revenue for the paymasters, where you will read what they want you to read. In order to find the truth, often on has to be incredibly determined.

Who is working for Jeremy Corbyn’s Press Office? Whoever it is needs sacking! Why is it that, whenever a story of this nature breaks, Mr. Corbyn is unprepared and unable to produce an accurate account of what took place, who was there, why he was there, what he did etc.? “Indeed he hath played on his prologue like a child on a recorder; a sound but not in government” but och, all in the public gaze! He needs to get this sorted and now!

I think it is high time the “Freedom of the press” was reassessed
Although it’s lies are the best propaganda there is, the right wing press simply should stand in front of a press council. If their lies are proven to be just that, then, after paying compensation to the injured party, they should be monitored and if still found to be lying about individuals, lose there rright to publish. Character assassination is not simly a fun game, so let us get it stopped!
