Labour centrists face their own racism row today, and they have no one to blame but themselves | The Canary

Oh dear. How sad (for the Labour so-called ‘Centrists’. In fact, they’re right-wingers).

They actively colluded with the Conservatives to support the Immigration Act of 2014 that enabled the racist “hostile environment” policy that resulted in the Windrush scandal.

Remember, the Tories have done nothing to ease the severity of this policy; it is still victimising people now.

But Labour ‘Centrists’ think it is far more worthwhile to ignore their role and that atrocity and to lie about their party leader.

For over two years, Labour centrists have promoted antisemitism smears against the left with scant regard for the opinions of left-wing Jews. But now, they are engulfed in their own racism row, as it’s emerged they all backed Theresa May’s 2014 Immigration Act. This act enabled the “regime of harassment” being suffered by the Windrush generation today, just as the left warned at the time.

They’re not centrists. They could all sit on the Tory benches and nobody would notice

Yup. Their supporters are slowly but surely admitting it. Not because they want to. but because increasingly it’s so obvious. They now call themselves ‘Blue Labour’, as if that’s something to be proud of.

… and this day, I heard that 18 people are being offered an apology and advice on how to claim compensation. EIGHTEEN!
I know that people who commit criminal offences lose the right to liberty but once that conviction is spent and the offenders have paid for their crimes, they are integrated back into society. How is it that those of the Windrush Generation are being denied that Right, despite being British citizens, or subjects? Has the European Court of Human Rights not ruled in favor of those, perhaps less deserving? We have not been able to deport people who were not British citizens, when they came yet these people, who were WRONGLY deported, are refused the right of return, apologies, or compensation. This is a double standard, if ever I saw one and a disgusting, despicable racist one, at that, and it should be and must be challenged. If it is not racist, why has it been allowed to proceed, seemingly unchallenged? where are the lawyers and lawmakers? Remember, these people were not deported because of any alleged criminal activity but because of Gross Negligence in the part of the Home Office.

The centrists the only ones to gain power. Therefore the only ones to do anything for the people of this country. Get real

    • Mike Sivier August 22, 2018 at 5:53 pm - Reply

      You get real.
The Centrists (in reality, Labour’s hard-right wing) had five years in which to try to get somewhere after Gordon Brown’s disastrous loss of the 2010 general election and all they did was convince us all that they look down on us and consider us to be nothing more than stepping-stones they can use to keep them in the manner to which they consider themselves entitled.
In response, we all told them to get stuffed and turned to Jeremy Corbyn and traditional Labour values instead.
The Centrists, as you call them, will never get Labour into power. They agree with the Conservatives on too many policy points.
That’s why people keep telling them to stop pretending and cross the floor of the House of Commons.
This article is about one very high-profile instance of Labour’s far-right selling out the people.
So take your nonsense about them doing anything for the people – they never will – and do one.

They, like Tony Blair, believe that power is the most important thing, not what you can do with it, or even standing for something. What is the point is gaining power, if the reason for it is not why you want people to vote for you? If you are elected on a Manifesto, the idea is that you carry out the promises that you made within in, not something completely different so, why do these people want power and what do they intend to do with it?
