UK medicine-testing contracts have COLLAPSED – because of Brexit

This is just the latest Brexit-related loss to the UK, thanks to the cack-handed Tories.

And consider David Schneider’s view, as relayed on Twitter: “If you don’t care about the NHS or our car industry or universities or farming or fishing or manufacturing or Northern Ireland or the poor or anyone with cancer or whose job depends on EU exports/imports, then I guess you could think Brexit is going well.”

Britain’s leading role in evaluating new medicines for sale to patients across the EU has collapsed with no more work coming from Europe because of Brexit, it has emerged.

The decision by the European Medicines Agency to cut Britain out of its contracts seven months ahead of Brexit is a devastating blow to British pharmaceutical companies already reeling from the loss of the EMA’s HQ in London and with it 900 jobs.

All drugs sold in Europe have to go through a lengthy EMA authorisation process before use by health services, and the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in Britain has built up a leading role in this work, with 20-30% of all assessments in the EU.

The MHRA won just two contracts this year and the EMA said that that work was now off limits.

And this is even before the country turns the clock back nearly half a century and actually leaves the EU. This nasty Tory government is a lasting disgrace.

Yet more cackhanded emotional faceless claptrap from a remoaner then

What do you mean, claptrap? Those contracts are gone – and the UK is worse-off as a result.

Safe to assume Barry is another flag waving fantasist who won’t be around to see the full extent of the damage he’s done…

‘It’ll be fine we’re British, they can’t afford not to give us everything we demand…!”

Failing that, let’s just blame the EU for everything, all over again.

This is playing politics, and should not be regarded as anything else. The EU is collapsing anyway and the right thing to do is negotiate as best we can to get out, before it actually happens.

Do I believe the Tories are or even have been seriously negotiating, NO, but we need to get rid of them in order to restart sensible talks. By supporting a so called peoples vote to go back in would be a political disaster for Labour that would be hamstrung by these self same people. That is Neo-Liberal right wingers in Europe.

We need to understand above all else, that life does not have to be this way, we can take back control, will that mean we solve all our problems overnight, of course not, will we meet this kind of resistance, most definitely yes, but we can get around this, it might even be the start of creating a proper relationship between our NHS and a nationalised drug company that would work hand in hand with each other.

We have our own currency, we are not like Greece, but we would do well to understand how badly Europe treated Greece.

Neo-Liberal Europe are not our saviours, that rests solely in our hands, and key to that is getting Labour elected at the first opportunity.
