What kind of benefit is Universal Credit, that people need a support group to cope with it?

This is Tory Party insanity at its height.

They keep telling us Universal Credit is the best thing that ever happened to the benefit system – yet now people in Portsmouth are being directed to charity support groups, simply in order to survive it.

That’s not social security – it’s a crime against humanity.

No one needs to navigate Universal Credit alone, support groups have said.

Across Portsmouth … a network of organisations … have been working towards the introduction of Universal Credit in partnership with both the council and the Jobcentre.

It isn’t insanity, its nasty vindictiveness.

This is because the CABx have now taken their 30 pieces of silver to become the official DWP agents in the roll out of UC. Now their are only volunteers or pay-for support services.

We are talking about setting up support group and sign posting service as UC rolls out to families and complex cases across our area. Every door opened in a recent canvassing session had a horror story about UC and its rollout to the single “simple” claims already in place. A young man with health problems without payment for 35 weeks and counting being plunged into suicidal depression – three attempts on his own life. A caller about another matter said his encounter at the JCP with the UC staff saying “we’re only following orders” after saying his new sick note was of no use, it was not relevant as he was fit to work, they could see it because he was in the office!?!

It is fake news that the Tories are not a homicidal group of ideologues who have waged class war on the poor and needy. Now we see the BMA paving the way for murder, sorry, medical euthenasia, of anyone any Dr thinks is better off dead, and that includes ppl they think will cost more to treat than they are worth. We’ve reached the top of Allports hierarchy under the Tories.
