Theresa May must be regretting her ‘Gollum’ curtsy to the Royal Family – it gave ammunition to Andy Serkis, the actor who played the character in the Tolkien movies.
The nickname stuck to her – and when it became clear that her Brexit deal was splitting her own party, it provided the actor with a perfect opportunity for satire, using the fictional Gollum’s personality problem to highlight the divisions. See for yourself – it’s terrific:

Mrs May earned the nickname after displaying obsequiousness towards the roles beyond all reason in a series of news images which people used to compare her with the famously-crawling movie villain. Images like this one:

The EU legal advice that no voting required by the Community if the UK changed its mind and withdrew its leave demands….. now means everything is in place to welcome the UK quickly back into the Club. Maybe Italy might screw things up to such an extent that there will be no EU to join.

Well said! It’s about time this tribe returned to their own planet! But it now appears they are using public money for their electorial purposes illegally, so it will surely be time for the Queen to give them a royal boot up the rear and throw them ouy of office!
That will never happen, for obvious reasons.
Once again, the Tories are revealed as “The Zombie party”, stumbling on,dead-eyed, when they should have collapsed and been buried long ago. In fact, how many Zombie films have the undead actually fighting amongst themselves? Despite the mass of knives deep in her back, May carries on as if it’s business as usual.
But, seriously, if we can’t stop some hideous form of Brexit from happening,(is there any other sort?) could we not have a word with allies in the European Parliament to pass legislation that allows the UK to re-enter the EU at ANY future point, even after next March, without unnecessary delay. Just the agreement that we are back in, on the same deal, if we ask. That, at least, might give us the re assurance that Brexit isolation might not last for ever. And that the spirit of co-operation can live on when the rotting corpse of competing Nationalism has been buried at last.
She wants to put the vote off until the day we drop out of the EU to scare the MPs into voting for it.
