The Tories’ big ‘unemployment rate’ lie – SHOT DOWN AGAIN

Once again, the Tories adopt the tactics of Goebbels. Once again, they fail.

The Nazi propaganda minister famously said: “The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.”

Well, Philip Hammond, Amber Rudd and the rest of the Tories look ridiculous for spreading this lie again.

But they don’t care because they know that their puppies in the mainstream press will repeat it and that will be enough to convince a large number of people that it is factually accurate.

And what is that lie, you ask?

That people are better-off if they have a job.

Here’s Philip Hammond:

Amber Rudd – who still hasn’t resigned as Work and Pensions Minister yet, but it’s only a matter of time – published an attack tweet against the Labour Party on the basis of these figures – and was shot down hard:

The facts are damning, aren’t they?

Dave Ward, below, posted a poll asking whether the government figures were worth your attention:

Last time I checked, only four per cent of the thousands of respondents thought the jobs trumpeted by the Tories were worth having.

The Tory “jobs revolution” continues to break records – in exploitation.

Lies, Lies, Corruption and Fraud – that’s what the Tories are all about.

let’s also remember that to be considered ’employed’ you only need to do one hour a week (!!!) and if you are self employed you can be barely working and earning anything:

‘The minimum wage for adults over 25 is currently £7.83. But our analysis shows that 2 million out of a total of almost 4 million self-employed workers aged 25 and over in the UK are now earning less than that figure.’ (TUC).

The Tories trying to make a comparison with the relatively full employment of the 70’s is utterly disingenuous and ludicrous. Back then jobs were secure and housing affordable and definitions of employment different.

Tories take misrepresentation and shysterdom to new heights.

The Tories say work is the best way out of poverty but if you’re not paid enough you work your way into poverty. As for full employment the Victorians had that, from young kids up chimneys to old people having to earn the odd penny. All working. All poor.

Don’t forget someone who can’t work because they are a carer for another family member is also classed as “employed”!

The Tories have always excelled in one thing. Lying. They, and the news media that support their lies, have been lying for Centuries. Go back to the South Sea bubble which was trickery to get Investment Capital in the South Sea Islands project. Oh, wait a minute, it was to finance a war with France so that their stupid ideas of beheading the money grubbers would not reach our shores. Of course, it meant many, many poor people here lost their lives in the resulting war but, they, it strengthened the grab calls!
