Vox Political’s Mike Sivier – and the apology from the last organisation to fling wild accusations at him.

Supporters of This Writer’s struggle against false accusations of libel by TV personalities Rachel Riley and Tracy-Ann Oberman have won a significant psychological victory.

After I launched a crowdfunding page to raise the money I need to fight their false claims in court, with an initial target of £5,000, members of the public stumped up the cash to reach it in a single day.

I am deeply grateful.

The page – which may be found here – is now raising cash for the “stretch” target of £25,000. Even this may not be enough if Ms Riley and Ms Oberman insist on taking their non-case to court, so please, if you haven’t already made a donation or can afford to make another, visit it and donate. These people are extremely well-resourced and their intention seems to be to drain my funds until I cannot afford to defend myself. That isn’t justice.

Of course, with the emergence of the crowdfunder came a renewed assault by Twitter trolls who support Ms Riley and Ms Oberman.

I hope neither of them took pride in the performance of “The Caped Joo Sader”, who chose a common method of attacking me – by approaching someone else and demanding to know why they offered their support. Fortunately, another Twitter user had my back. Look:

[The reference was to my comic strip Hard-Boiled Hitler but the claims are false and have been disproved. See for yourself here. You’ll enjoy it, I think.]

I’m sure some readers will believe racism is a big issue but I think Mr Lincoln-Samwell was referring to the fact that issues related to the people he mentioned are responsible for more deaths in the UK than racism.

And it’s a fantastic testimonial to me! I was deeply moved.

In summary: What a difference a day makes. Please keep donating and I’ll use the money to the best of my ability.
