New Facebook rules on targeted ads mean we can see what the Tories didn’t want us to

The last I heard was that the Conservative government was calling on social media platforms to crack down on targeted ads, so this is a very funny surprise.

After Facebook brought in a system in which organisations have to log their adverts, the Tories bought space for their campaign in Brecon and Radnorshire.

You can see the image above. Here’s how Another Angry Voice describes the way it went:

The advert was clearly only intended for the consumption of a certain demographic the Tories have identified as people who dislike wind farms, mainly women over the age of 44 for some reason.

This anti-environmental advert was obviously never intended for mass public consumption, because it clashes so glaringly with all of their “greenwash” about caring for the environment, which even goes as far as pinching EU anti-plastic pollution policies that were opposed in the European parliament by Tory MEPs to present them as Tory innovations!

So it would obviously be a terrible shame for the Tory party if people widely shared this article detailing what they’re sending out to particular demographics when they think nobody else is looking wouldn’t it?

The article to share is at this address: The secret targeted Tory ads they don’t want you to see

Oh, hey – I wonder if you can find out how many ads the Liberal Democrats took out, and how much they cost?

Have YOU donated to my crowdfunding appeal, raising funds to fight false libel claims by TV celebrities who should know better? These court cases cost a lot of money so every penny will help ensure that wealth doesn’t beat justice.

Fortunately, I use an ad blocker and have done for some years so, they can target me all they want, I won’t see them. As a £iverpool supporter, I got sick of seeing ads for The Sun; I even complained about them, for all the good that it did so, I employed an ad blocker and haven’t seen one since! I addition, I was getting ads in my e.mail, as the first e.mail in the list, which I found greatly annoying, frustrating and distracting so, ad blockers away. I haven’t seen a facebook ad in years, not that I paid them much attention, anyway.
