Williamson launches fund to help Labour members who were wrongly expelled
Unity is strength: Chris Williamson, announcing the new fighting fund.
This is damning – for the Labour bureaucracy and the news media that lied about what it has been doing.
Chris Williamson, the former MP who left the party after being wrongly accused of anti-Semitism and subsequently took Labour to court, has been awarded all of the costs associated with that case after he won it.
He will use the money to start a fighting fund for other wronged ex-party members to fight back against the slurs on their names.
But why don’t I let him explain for himself? Here he is:
CONCLUSIVE
I defeated Labour's broken bureaucracy in the High Court: they must now pay all my costs, which will help establish a Left Legal Fighting Fund.

This is the right time for an overhaul of Labour’s policies – after an election in which that party fell disastrously short of what the public expected of it.
The nightmarish mistreatment of members falsely accused of anti-Semitism is just one area in which the party got it wrong, pandering to pressure groups when the leadership should have been questioning the motives of those involved.
It is one reason This Writer will not be supporting Rebecca Long-Bailey’s bid to be party leader:

Fond as I am of Rebecca, whom I know personally as a former constituent of hers, I must concur. She has been much too weak on this, and has showed depressingly little loyalty to a number of close colleagues.
I didn’t know this Mike-thanks. I would have supported her but now I don’t think I can as she has bee sucking up to the vile and smear obsessed JLM, whose ‘evidence’ to the EHRC wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on.
As a Jew I want someone with the guts and courage to clear this up and set the record straight about the vilifications against Chris and others.
But who has the guts and acumen to do this when the whole Party seems to have caved in to it?

Have read the above with dismay about RLB’s weakness in dealing with the JLM.
But here is my dilemma:—–
Who DO I vote for? We are ALL compromised in some way. Voting for a leader is bound to be a poor choice , really.
In a way, perhaps we should vote for someone who says they will step down as leader if the Tory Press attacks become too strong and the voters are starting to believe it. Then someone else can quickly take over so the Tory smear-machine has to start all over again. Eventually, like musical chairs, the winner will be the leader who takes over just before a General Election and before they have been demonised in the papers.
Am I cynical, or does someone else have a better idea as to how we cope with the persistent hatchet jobs by our opponents?
Or how about a leader who can turn the Tory press attacks back on them?
